Who knows...
Michiganders and Wisconsonites are fairly similar when you really think about it...

haha. No, I know what a cankle is and I'm from Georgia, which is far from Michigan and Wisconsin, but I didn't figure it was appropriate to make a post with just " lol " as a message body, so I didn't post .

The reason that your calves grow so much bigger is when you play DDR you're using mostly the calf muscle to move your feet from arrow to arrow. Mind you that you tend to stay on your toes so that you can quickly touch the next arrow, your calves are the muscle that let you stay on your toes, so DDR is possible THE greatest calf workout ever!

Some people play flat footed. I don't even know how. I'm pretty much on my toes constantly playing DDR.

I play flat footed.
I've also played drums since I was 9. My calves don't look any bigger, but they're much firmer again.

Mine have become enormous. That usually happens from playing home version and if you weigh a lot (or if your calves start out being week). I started playing DDR when I was 270, so my calves BURNED every time I would play even just a little bit of home version didder. That's because you're basically doing calf raises...hundreds of em When you play at the arcade, and you play correctly, it's your quads that will get big instead of your calves. And quads make you fast. Yay.

Mine aren't too bad, although I think they are noticably more muscular. But they don't look out of proportion or anything. It does seem to vary, though-- some days I look at my calves and think they look really huge, but other days they look absolutely normal to me.

If anything my calves have firmed up and gotten smaller (they are freakin HUGE to begin with... hockey will do that to you). I believe it works that your muscle (whichever you are working) shouldnt get any bigger if you arent periodically increasing the resistance/weight. SO, technically, as you are losing weight your calf muscles should keep firming up and decrease in size. Thats my two cents.

I love my calves, they have always been one of my favorite parts on my body. They are rock hard and I love it. All my strength is in my legs. (ashamed of little upper body strength) I rely on them for sports.

I have big calves, too. I've had them since I was young though. I used to ride my bike a lot. And I mean a lot. Just about every day, with long sessions just about every weekend. And even the occasional marathon. I did this from the time I was about 10 or so until I was about 15, so it bulked my calves up quite a bit. It also runs in the family, my dad has big calves too. After I stopped biking, my calves lost their definition and even got a little flabby. Not too jiggly, just not as tight as they once were. After I bought my DDR pad (Maybe 2 years ago at the most) my calves have tightened back up and have become more defined. My girlfriend loves my calves though, so I dont mind.

I started playing DDR (arcade) about 2 months ago. Since then I have noticed my calves tightining up ALOT. I try to play atleast 5/7 days a week. I didn't notice till about 5 days ago.lol. Was watching tv, and I noticed alot of my leg flab was almost completely gone. I was pretty psyched.
