This thread is for posting your favorite video game besides DDR. A thread already exists under sticking together but I thought a thread like that belongs more under ...in General. So post away! Let's see what everyone's favorite video game is and what games they've been playing lately.

SOUL CALIBUR!!!!! I almost made SC1 my number 5! I have yet to play SC2. SC1 was the first game I purchased for the Dreamcast.

I prefer SC1 to SC2. The arenas were just a little more claustrophobic, the characters were a little more balanced, and they looked better to boot.

Which character do you use? I use Kilik. Edgemaster/Charade. I like variety, plus it keeps my opponent on their toes. If not them, I tend to play Xianghua, Seung Mina, Ivy, and Astaroth.

Favorite Fighting Game: Any Soul Calibur (Nightmare owns all.) Okay, I'm going way offtopic here, but I've got to bite on that challenge. Nightmare can be a brute, but he's way too linear. His horizontal attacks are too slow, and a player who can effectively use the 8way run can make him look positively glacial. Granted, once he knocks you down, it's very hard to come back. Okay, threadjack over.

Haha. Sounds like a new discussion to me. I'm actuall very skillful with Taki also. They have extremely contredicting styles, which is why I probably excell at both. I've played many good SC players, as I have played in tournaments. Somehow, my Nightmare skills can't be overthrown. When I'm using Nightmare, I feel like I can counter every single move the other oppenent throws at me. Not to mention his awesome varying stances (although I think Voldo has the best stances.) Taki, on the other hand, I can whirl up a flury with, but if someone counters my attack, I'm pretty much dead right there. However, if I have you in a juggle, kiss your chance of winning goodbye. And about being linear and glacial, sure, he is a bit slow, but at least it's not Asteroth.

And about being linear and glacial, sure, he is a bit slow, but at least it's not Asteroth. He's only slow outside of his linear attacks. His overhead "B" attacks are alarmingly fast, and if you run right at him, you're toast. He's not unstoppable, though, and that's part of what makes Soul Calibur such a great game.

Yeah, it's such a great, balanced experience. Although I have to say Mitsurugi (who is like my 4th best --- non-cheapshot...), Cereventes, and Ivy are quite cheap, it's such a balanced game. Although Ivy IS hard to master...
Mortal Kombat is fun too, but it's pretty bad. Subzero represent.

Where's the love for Virtua Fighter? VF is a close second to SC1&2 when it comes to modern 3D fighters. Lei Fei is my fav. but I'm a lot more skilled with Jacky and Sarah.

VF is okay, and I'm sure there's a great game in there somewhere. My problem with VF is that the learning curve is very steep, and I've been unwilling to spend the time to get to that point.

I love Project Gotham Racing 1 and 2. They are really fun and the detail is amazing. I love the city scapes and the realistic intricacies like leaves blowing across the street and rain hitting the pavement.

I'm so mad I could spit right now. I was really looking forward to the RPG game, Fable. It sounded totally cool, but I just found out that you can only be male in the game. That just sucks for me because I really like being female and would just once like to be included when they program a game. The character can wear women's clothes and marry a man, but not be a woman. It totally BLOWS and I'm angry as hell. They're just lucky I didn't drop the 50 bucks on the thing before I found all of this out.

I heard that Fable wasn't that great anyways. My friend went out and purchased it the day it came out and was greatly disapointed after playing it through 2 times.
