You know what time it is? OPINION TIME! Yeah, that's right. I've just throwing this question out there. What is the big deal about love? Can someone answer that? Because I would sure like to know. I know what love is like. I've had a share of it, the good and the unfortunate bad. I listen to songs about love sometimes and I like them and all, but I still don't get it. I know what love feels like. I know what it feels like to be loved. And I know what it feels like to be crushed into a heart sandwich. Am I too educated or not educated enough? Want to tell me but not on the thread, private message or e-mail me. I'm looking for answers because I'm completely clueless about why love is so great.

Well that would be the definitive great mystery of life now wouldn't it?
There's a reason Love is the central theme is just about every piece of artwork, music, and the written word for millenia.
To me Love is what seperates us as people from everything else on earth....that or opposable digits and a big brain.

Love is a great thing because it is like the good side of the force. Lust being the bad. I see love as a great thing just because i have been with someone for over a year. It is really nice to have someone that will listen to you and someone you can just hold.

Love is waking up to your mate next to you every morning, and going to bed knowing your best friend is right beside you.

Simply put, God is love. The bible says it in 1 John 4:8 - "Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love".
The greatest love in the world is from God because in John 3:16 it says, "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."
God loves us so much that he wants us in heaven with Jesus. To get there do as John 3:16 says. Believe in Him. Jesus was sent to Earth to pay for our sins.
The only way we can get into heaven is to be perfect and we have all fallen short of the glory of God as it is said in Romans 3:23.
Accepting Jesus as your savior and putting your life into his hands is the way to get to heaven.
How awesome would that be...to see all you DDR'ers in heaven glorifying Jesus and what he has done. Heaven is perfect, I don't know about you...but I'm pumped about getting there!
If you would like to talk more, feel free. I'm all about promoting the kingdom of God.

I think LOVE is one of the most beautiful feelings on this planet but at the same time, the most Overated word ever used in history. I have to admit that I have never really felt LOVE, but I have felt LUST, which even though feels almost the same, is very very very different.

i dont feel like people specifically have to worship "god" because god goes by many names... and who knows if any of us even has his/her name right... =P her/his name could be like steve... LOL
anyhoo... luv is great... lust is fun *wink to maria* and it is different for every person.
no one can tell anyone else about luv or why it is so special because it is such a different experience for each party involved....

So many people think they know what love is,, I thought I knew till I found "the one". There are two main types of love, Agape love and Eros love, agape is a personal deep love, eros is a sexual lusting love. If you think eros is love, your wrong.

The big deal about love?
I don't know if I can answer that...but ... when I am an old man and if it were to happen that my wife would pass from this world before me...
I would follow soon afterwards. Not from something I did... but because I am so incredibly in love with her... that I would die without her. As my lungs need air... my heart needs her.

Ok, so you guys don't bash me on what I'm about to say.. This is a personal thought, that I truly believe. Unless proven otherwise..
I don't think there is such a thing as LOVE.. or Being In LOVE.. I think that it's more of an infatuation thing... Where one is Infatuated with the other, but the other doesn't feel the same for them. We just try to believe that their is such a thing as love, but what we are really doing is keeping our self occupied until the next best thing. Either way... I think it sucks donkey balls..

Your views on someone you 'love' can change by the smallest event, or even your opinion on something, just the slightest bump in the 'perfect relationship' and they can break up...how can that be true and meant to be?

I respect both of your views and I promise not to do any bashing. ;D
Love is different for everyone... and if your relationship with someone is destroyed by a small bump in the road... then that I just cannot see as love.
Love is not an emotion... or I should say not just an emotion. You really have to work to make it happen. You have to have this mindset that you are not going to wuss out when that rocky road hits and the part that makes it REALLY hard... is does that person you are with also have that kind of resolve? I sure as hell don't know...but here I go going to continue trusting her anyways.
Again... I can only talk from a point of view where I know what love is like for me. It is most assuredly not infatuation where it causes me to have a foolish love... or act foolish because I would without a doubt give my life for her....then again some might find that foolish. lol
The path she and I have travelled was amazingly rocky... starting with a daughter and literally nothing... coming around 10 years this June and being able to stand on our own feet. Through the sorrows... the joys... the pain and suffering and the fear and darkness of our own lives... we have one another... Just her... myself and my 5 spawn....lol
Yes I have 5 kids...
2 girls, 3 boys....
I am looking to annex neighborhoods next...lol
Anyways... I could go on and on and provide reasons why love exists... but it would be foolish for me to do so. I can only talk from my point of view and unless you know me outside of these forums and see me with my wife and children... I am afraid you just would not understand.

Where one is Infatuated with the other, but the other doesn't feel the same for them. I think that mos ppl just assume when they are 'in love' with someone, that means that person's traits, personality, or opinions is going to be on the same level as them. Unfortunately, us being humans, we tend not to be so easy going as we like to believe. So they get distraunt when they learn that the person they 'love' didn't 'love' them back the same way. Love to me, is when you accept the person for who they are, despite their differences from your own traits, and you really enjoyed the way they treat you despite that. But most of us (even me at times) tend to hold on to the ideal of what we think the person we are in love should be instead of 'who' they actually are.
