From what I've gathered, the PSMO, MaxX Unlimited, and Max. are some of the hardest songs DDR has to offer, yes?

PSMO actually isn't a song. It is just the Challenge (Oni in the arcade and JP CS mixes) steps for Paranoia Survivor Max.

While I cannot beat any 10s yet, I can tell you that the general consensus among the good, the skilled, and the arrogant*, is that PSMO and Max. (Period) are the two hardest stages that were created by Konami (Stepmania/DWI stuff has been made by fans that is way harder). It is arguable which one is the hardest. Max. (Period) kills you with pure speed, while PSMO is fast, but kills you with really complex step patterns and more random of tempo changes.

That is just my understanding. I'm sure some of the other posters could give more first hand of information.

*Not referring to any of you here. Just there definitely is a lot of ego going on in the threads on other message boards where I learned about the two songs.

Yeah, I have PSM (Oni steps too) and Max. for Stepmania, and I can't pass Max., but can easily conquer PSMO...

MaxX unlimited and Max 300 are very easy compared to something like Legend of PSMO. Some of the parts in the songs it's unbelievable people can actually hit the arrows.

kinda off topic maybe, but if you want a good laugh play bag on stepmania and set the speed mod to 0.25x it's hilarious the whole song is on about 2 measures.

It's probably not much of a deal to anyone, but I'll go ahead and tell something about myself before I give my newest accomplishments.

I've only been playing since late June, and am currently using a pad that is faulty and doesn't work, it's a friends (my Ignition 2.0 got worn out, so a new one is coming soon.) After about 2-3 weeks I ventured into the territories of Standard mode. Then recently, about a week to a week and a half ago I tried some Heavy, mostly 6's and 7's.

Tonight I did some overkill, burning 1250 calories in under an hour.

My newest accomplishments on Heavy:

Pass Twilight Zone 2nd Try
Pass Breakdown 1st Try
Pass Kakumei 1st Try

Those were the first 9 footers I've been able to pass.

I also passed a variety of 8's including SP-TRIP Machine, Vanity Angel, Lovin' You, Can't stop fallin' in love, and 6 other eight footers.

Again, it may not seem like much to other people, but I'm progressing really fast I think and proud.

I think this week when I go to the arcade I'll be trying Bag (With Speed Mods) on Heavy and Sakura on Heavy...

Definitely a good job on those. I see you solved your Breakdown problem somehow.

I've been trying a lot of different stuff in the arcade lately. Most of it was just easier stuff that I basically knew I could beat on the first try (Freckles, Nori Nori Nori, Dam Dariram, Hyper Eurobeat, Firefly, etc.). I attempted a few Catas:

Captain Jack (Grandale Mix) - I lost at the end of the song when when he yelled "let's go let's go..." If I had picked it earlier in the set, I would have passed it.

Dead End - I lost around the third set (I think there are three) of single arrow foot taps. If it weren't for those, I probably would have gone all the way.

Matsuri Japan - I got a B. It was probably exhaustion from completing this one that contributed to me losing on Captain Jack. Dead End was on a different day, though.

I've tried Matsuri Japan on my Max game. I have a lot of trouble with it for some reason, (probably because my friends' mat is so messed up,) but I for some reason seem to have more trouble on the Heavy songs on Max rather Max 2. Maybe it's just a mental thing?

You had mentioned that you couldn't do Tsugaru because it had too many gallops. While Matsuri Japan's gallops are different, they are still gallops. Well actually, the start of it has gallops very similar to those in Tsugaru, but at a much faster BPM (180 in Matsuri Japan vs. 165 in Tsugaru). 15 BPM is a pretty big difference. Maybe that is the problem. Max does have quite a few faster Heavies. I don't think there is a major difference between the two, though.

Otherwise, yeah the pad could be the problem.

I finally passed The legend of max on heavy after 4 tries.

I got 5 greats on it on standard level.

Yeah, I'm trying to get better at gallops, it is the speed on Matsuri Japan that messes me up a lot, aside from the pad.

i have already AAA it on light though, i still have some problem with it on heavy though, gotta keep on practicing till my legs can't take it anymore.
