What has been your biggest accomplishment so far on DDR...any version! Lets list them, whether they are getting a D on Maxx 300 or getting an E on Maxx Unlimited (me).
No matter how big or how small, lets see what you have done! We can all offer you suppport and tell you to keep up the good work!
For me...tonight I passed Silent Hill - 3rd Christmas Mix on Challenge with an AA. I was so happy!

Okay guys, now don't laugh at an old lady(40 something), but I was able to do a three footer yesterday and got a B. My teenagers have been DDR-ing for about a year and finally convinced me to try it. They bought the pad, playstation and software and set it up in the basement with an old TV. At first I was completely lost on even the one foot songs until I went thru the lessons that come with 5th mix. Now, I go through the lessons first as a warm up, (takes about half-an-hour) then start with a one foot song and go up from there. I actually worked out yesterday for 1 1/2hrs. and didn't want to stop! I used to walk around the perimeter of our 2 acres, but this winter it's been mighty cold in Michigan and I've been housebound, except for the occassional shopping trip to the mall. I have bought excercise equipment in the past. In fact, I have a bike and rower in the basement right now that I used for a week and hated. This DDR stuff is cheaper (if you do it at home) and alot more fun. My long term goal: Go to the local arcade (or wherever the machine is), and play well enough to not embarass my kids. CindyP

Woot woot!! I finally achieved an A on Gradiusic Cyber and La Senorita Virtual on Light. I have noticed that my stamina and my reaction time have definitely improved. DDR is keeping me healthy! Current I weigh 235 (as of last Fri. I do Weight Watchers and I weigh in on Fri.). I'm going to start adding people to my acct. here for DDR on XBox Live. So if you've mentioned your gamertag on here, look forward to a friends request from me! Everyone keep up the good work. I will soon be posting pictures of before and after (DDR has played a big role in my life since the day after Thanksgiving). They will be at my webpage! Visit it at... www.jerradkinsella.comPeace out everyone!

Well, tonight I realized for the first time that I can pass 5-6 foot songs on Standard w/ an A or B (DDRMax2). It doesn't sound like much, but it's bloody amazing for me (I've got *horrid* hand/eye coordination & only passable sense of rhythm... getting an Ignition pad last month & playing obsessively since then is the only thing that's gotten me this far).
'Course, in the middle of playing 5-6 foot songs on Standard for the first time tonight is when I fell off the mat & injured myself. ;D
I'm "Vrykolaka" on XBox Live, BTW, though I still haven't played DDR on it, yet... I can never wrestle the XBox away from the boys of the house long enough to play it. ;D Luckily, the PS2 is in my room rather than the living room...

Okay guys, now don't laugh at an old lady(40 something), but I was able to do a three footer yesterday and got a B. CindyP I'm not laughting at all. I'm a 32 year old mother (my son is 14 months old). Not only do i play, but so does my 52 year old mother. She watched me play once in January 2002 & got totally hooked. It took a lot of time, but she passes 5 - 7 footers now. Don't worry about how well you can do or what people think - just have fun! The only good thing about getting better is that you'll find you get a better aerobic workout once you can do faster stepping. We have played at the arcade together a few times. I'm just starting to pass a few catas (9 footers) at home, probably couldn't do it at the arcade yet. Both my mother & I are way uncoordinated, so being able to play is an accomplishment!

Hey there nurseminako, It's great to hear of other 'non-teens' who enjoy DDR too. And give your mom a big thumbs up for me. You're right, it's addictive and frustrating at the same time. I don't feel old, but my body just won't move as fast as my kids. (g)
Can I ask what equipment you're using? I started with my daughter's metal pad, but was told the RedOctane soft one was more responsive. So I got one of those, but didn't like having to do without my shoes. I checked into other pads and discovered the CobaltFlux. Everyone says they are the cadillac of pads so I bought one, but it isn't here yet. One good thing about being old is having more 'discretionary income' for toys. (g) I do think I have used my daughter's set-up more than I would have used an expensive treadmill.
See ya, Cindy

I still suck, and have no rythem what so ever. I'm just a white boy who cannot dance. But I try! ;D It's funny. I hate to dance, but I love DDR. I'm getting into 9 footers on heavy. Progressing well and doing pretty good. Soon I'll be calling myself an actual 9 footer. I'm currently more like a 8 1/2 footer. I'm always getting better and loosing more weight. I'm proud of what I've done so far and I hope everyone is proud of what they've done. I remember those 2-3 footer song levels. I can only hope that the accomplishments that everyone makes leads them to continue on and become the best that they want to be. I used to think some songs were impossible and couldn't be done by a human being. Now I see that they are coming closer to my reach. Don't ever give up. I can't stop expressing how important this is to an improving player. Good luck to everyone and congrats on all your acomplishments.

Just before my home pad went on the fritz last week, I passed my first eight-footer. ("Kind Lady Interlude") I passed my first arcade seven-footer earlier this week. ("Silent Hill 3rd Christmas Mix")
It's nice to have these accomplishments, but really my main goal is to have fun. I worry that if I get caught up in trying to pass harder and harder songs, it won't be so fun for me anymore.

Silent Hill 3rd Mix is an awesome 7 foot song! Congrats on passing it, when I first started playing I was like, what's going on here Willis? It took me like 12 tries to finally get a AA, but it was worth the exercise! Once again, Congratulations!
