I am sort of addicted to diet coke ^_^ (about 6 a day) and I also like iced tea but I don't think they are good for me so what's something good to drink other than water.

Water. Flavor it if you need to, but it's the best thing to drink.
Iced Tea isn't bad for you. Tea is a very good thing to drink, there are a lot of good antioxidants in tea. Just don't go overboard with sweetener.
Just out of curiousity, why don't you think they are good for you?

I don't know... I am 15 and I'm tired and it's hard to think Anyway, I usually drink brisk or lipton (sp?) which have sweetners in them should I start drinking unsweetened? Also, I'll check but I don't think you answered about the soda ^_^. Thanks so far!

drop any kinda carbonation in general... including coffee. I always drink limonade, Poweraid, Gatoraid (anything with "aid" or "ade" at the end =P) and water.. sometimes tea.

Sometimes the gatorades are bad because many sports drinks add sugar.. I read an article in a health magazine at my doctor's office that said if the soda was caffeine free and diet, it was like drinking water. I don't know if this is true, everyone says something different. My doctor said it's true, my nutritionist only wants me to drink water. Who knows. If you want to keep the diet cokes, maybe go caffeine-free. I do caffeine-free vanilla, personally. I also drink at least one 8 oz glass of caffeine-free tea, skim milk, and the pulpiest OJ available, plus 16 oz of splenda-lemonade. Kinda gross, but hey. I dropped my coke intake from like.. 10 a day (at least!) to around 4. Sometimes I make kool-aid with splenda, too. I'm gonna look for some kind of single-serving low-cal/low-fat/sugar-free juices at the store soon, I think the hardest thing for me, and yes this is totally pathetic, is that it's easier to grab a cold coke than to go get a cup or wash one, get the thing of milk, open it, pour it, put it back.. I mean, yes, this is so lazy of me, but it's true!

I think you mean caffeine, not carbonation. Coffee ain't carbonated, and would be quite nasty if it were. Lemonade, unless it's a diet lemonade, ala Crystal Light, is loaded with sugar. So are your "-ades" and "-aids", Gatorade has 125 calories per bottle. That's 125 better than a bottle of Coke, but 125 worse than a bottle of water. Yes, Lipton Brisk is also loaded with sugar. Diet Lipton/Nestea isn't, but is loaded with aritifical sweeteners. Brewing your own is best, there are a lot of great flavored teas out there, so you can control your flavors. Use sweetener sparingly (even aritifcial sweeteners). Brew it hot and strong, then pour it over ice. And Caffeine isn't necessarily all evil, but like everything else needs to be used in moderation.

Yes but worse! Soda is one of the worst possible things you can drink even if it is diet. Diet soda especially is bad for you. It contains this nasty little ingredient called Aspritain (sp?). It's been known to cause cancer and other harmful things to you. If you drink 6 cans a day this can't be good o.O
I usually drink Water, Apple Juice, Orange Juice, Lemonade, Pink Lemonade (mmm lol), and other not so carbonated drinks lol

www.arizonabev.com/csr/newproducts.aspxThese Arizona No Carb Tea's are VERY good. I've been drinking only these and water lately. Each 16 oz bottle is 2 servings, at 5 calories a serving, no carbs (If anyone is into that low-carbs thing) and they actually taste good, especially as opposed to water)! Seriously, these things have been like miracle drinks to me lately. Has anyone tries those infused waters? Are they any good?

I disagree with drinking OJ..unless you drink a small quantity of it. Because it doesnt have fiber like a real orange..its like drinking sugar (with nutrients) It can casue major blood surges. So its good for you..if you keep it small. I personally cant drink it as then it sets me up for cravings the rest of the day.
As far as milk goes the US is one of the few countries where adults drink a lot of milk. In Europe they get calcium from brocoli, cheese etc. Only the kids drink milk. I am not saying its bad for you..but I am saying the 2-3 glasses per day is not needed.
As far as diet soda..aspartame is not good for you..the jury is out on splenda but some folks think its better and drink soda with splenda like diet rite.
I drink tea, decaf coffee, water and occasionaly diet soda.(diet rite).real soda makes me feel sick cus of the sugar.

The killer about Gatorade is that after a prolonged period of drinking it, your body adjusts and doesn't produce as many of it's own electrolytes, preferring to get them from the Gatorade. So it's almost addictive.
Orange Juice, it's like drinking 4-5 oranges. Way too much sugar. Eat an orange instead.
Milk. Think about it. Milk is designed by nature to be a prefect balance of nutrition for baby animals. Each species milk is balanced for that species. So why are we drinking a liquid that is hormonally and nutritionally balanced for a calf?
Tea is good, it doens't have to be green tea. Studies have shown that there are as many antioxidants in black tea as there are in green tea. Sweeten if you must.

Water is the absolute best. Don't drink it in huge quantities, just enough to satiate your thirst. Spread eight glasses of water out over your day and you will have clearer skin and feel so much better.

So why are we drinking a liquid that is hormonally and nutritionally balanced for a calf? One reason are the articles mentioned on this site: www.nationaldairycouncil.org/healthyweight/science.asp . There are many studies that show that drinking milk (a reasonable amount, not all your daily fluids!) helps people lose weight.

Any calcium in your diet can do that.
