Jay,
I'm gettin ready to start the Micheal Thurmond six week body makeover. It's gonna be a week or so before I start cause I have to wait for shipping outside the U.S., but when I do, I'll post my result for you all to see if it's an option you may wanna take.

Thanks for the ups! Now my only problem is I feel guilty if I don't DDR everyday so I've been doing at least a little every day even when I feel tired. Does anyone else feel that way? As far as my "diet" is concerned, it's a very laid-back diet process. I have not had a soda for a few months. I drink exclusively Crystal Light or the Sugar Free Kool Aid to cut back on my calorie-intake on drinks, as I'd much rather have a chocolate-chip cookie than a mountain dew. Breakfast is usually a rush for me so I just eat a chewy granola bar, and for lunch - since I eat at the cafeteria at work and their food is yucky, I just eat veggies and veggie soup that they serve, so I don't go out for lunch anymore, and haven't for about three weeks. Now DINNER is a totally different story. And this is where the guilt comes in - I eat whatever is good for dinner, be it Chinese, Italian, etc., and it's usually a hefty portion. But I would rather have a nice big dinner than a big breakfast or lunch since dinner is my favorite meal of the day. I just make sure I DDR some of those calories off aftwards, and I always eat plenty of hours before bedtime. Starting off, I burn more calories than average because the heavier you are, the more calories you burn. So at 195 lbs I would burn more than someone at 150. I try to do at LEAST 200 calories, but love to do 300 on days that I can. I've also found that the new Eye Toy Groove game is an excellent way to burn more calories in addition to DDR. In fact, it's a good thing for me because I needed to do some upper body work anyway. I might start alternating nights - one night I should do DDR and the next Groove. Yeah, I'm losing more slowly than someone who is on a low-carb diet, but I am happy with the weight loss even if it is small. And I'm so addicted to DDR that I don't see an end to it anytime soon! Peace!

Eye Toy Groove is the second game for the Eye Toy camera. The first one was Eye Toy Play which featured like 12 mini games that uses a web-cam type camera to put you on the t.v. as you play the game. Eye Toy Groove is an awesome dance game that uses your hands and arms to hit various points on queue. Check out the link and watch/listen to some of the videos of people playing the game: www.us.playstation.com/Content/games/scus-97400/ogs/groove.aspI'm as addicted to it as DDR at the time being, however, there are only 23 songs (28 once you pass all songs on dynamic level) so the songs might get old fast. They better come out with Groove 2!! Enjoy!

That's the one thing I hate about all these beat games like DDR and Groove - they're always too expensive and the price rarely goes down. I spent $28.00 on my game brand new because my best friend gave me the camera since she had an extra one. (She bought Eye Toy Play and Eye Toy Groove both with cameras.) I believe they are now selling Eye Toy Play without the camera since Groove can come with one. I don't have Play yet, but I'd like to. Anything that features body movement so I'm not just sitting there. Peace,

I am pleased to announce this week's update! Again I have lost about 2 pounds in one week. Actually, 2.3 pounds to be exact! This now means that I have lost over 10 pounds by doing DDR in one month's time! I started DDRing on April 2nd, and as it is now May 3rd, I have lost 10 lbs from DDRing. And that is my weight WITH clothes. It would be hard to get my naked-weight at work. ;D Some say to subtract 2 lbs. from your weight to account for clothes, but I'm mainly interested in total loss. I am so happy! Also, I now have TWO dancing buddies. My best friend has been my dancing partner for the full month, but my mother started coming over this weekend to dance with me. She learned quickly and since she is an exercise freak, she'll soon be beating my socks off. Life is always on the positive when you can play a video game and still lose weight! Peace!

;D Hey Japguy, that is EXCELLENT!!! I can tell you feel great. Have you noticed how much of a difference DDR has made in our lives? It not only helps us lose weight but also makes us feel more confident in ourselves, as well as feel PUMPED to keep doing more! This isn't like buying a membership at a gym, where you go for one week and then quit. This is PERMANENT! FUN! And the results are very obvious! Keep on, keep on, keep on, keep on movin'! Peace!

I have all the PSX games so that helps keep the variety at a good level for me so I don't get too bored with the games. The only one I'm not too excited about is the 2nd Mix since there isn't a workout mode, so I usually skip the 2nd Mix. My favorite is the 5th mix. I'm sure that when I get the 2 PS2 games, DDRMax and DDRMax2, though, that those will be my favorites!! The songs are better in the 5th Mix than all the other PSX games. I haven't yet heard the songs on the PS2 games, though.
When are they coming out with a DDRMax 3?

Hello! iamjay - yes I have a PS2. I also have a PSX which is where I play all of my dancing games. At least until I finally get some games for the PS2! jrd - Yeah! Good to hear another one is coming. I hope they keep 'em coming, too! I don't even have DDRMAX or DDRMAX2 yet but I plan on getting them for my birthday, so I'll be VERY ready to get the DDR Extreme. My friend has the Japanese version but it of course won't play on my PS2 so I have to wait for it to be released here in the States.

I didn't lose as much this week because I kind of binged on chocolate chip cookies and Reese's Pieces, but I still managed to lose 1.2 lbs overall this week. I'm just counting my blessings that I didn't gain. SO, DDR still continues to produce results! This is the first week where I really gave in to the sweets. Oh well, guess we have to have one of those weeks every now and then or life wouldn't be as fun! Groove also continues to help. I now am getting A's on the hard level of all 28 songs. Even if the songs get repetitive I keep on doing it because I know it's good exercise. Peace,

DDR may seem a little repetative sometimes, just remember that it's no where near as repetative as jogging or an aerobics video!!

At this point, if it weren't for video games like these I wouldn't be getting exercise. So repetitive or not I'm hanging in there because I feel good! I notice a big difference in not only the way I look, but also the way my body feels. Even just lying in bed I feel weird because I've got more muscle mass now than I used to have. My legs are toned! All the other exercise methods I've tried have failed. Not DDR!
Peace,
