Hello! I'm new, and have played DDR just once (at a party, and I laughed so hard at how bad I was that I didn't play very much). I'm inspired by all of the things I have read here, and am now interested in getting DDR for home use.
Question: should I get an XBOX or a PS2? Why?
I don't know anything at all about video games (though I used to play on the Intellivision and the original Atari...).

Let me some it up kind of easily.
PS2 = Eye Toy, More games, more songs.
XBOX = One (soon to be two) games, fewer songs, but XBox Live.

I would go with the TurboGraphix16 over the Jaguar. It's that easy......those Bonk video games are classic!
Just joking......The PS2 has more games in total, more non-gamer friendly games.
The Xbox is a better machine, xbox live, has a hard drive (no memory cards needed).
If you deside to go with the PS2 make sure to buy the new re-designed system......my old PS2 had disc read errors along with many other people's.

Bonk's Adventure 0wnz.
Can't really think of a specific reason to get one over another. I only got the PS2 because it was backward compatible and I had no PSX (and still had like 20 PSX games). I don't know which system I would choose if it were just to get a single game.

Have you thought of buying a PO-compatible mat and then downloading stepmania. You get a lot more song versatility and its a heck less expensive if you have a PC and do not purchase many other video games.

All you need is some sort of adapter.
