Not really, but its alll crack under the nail and bruised and sorta red around the nail, and I tried to clean it to make sure no lint was in it to infect it or anything and blood plasma started coming out.
I love my Pumas, they are PERFECT for dancing in, but a bittoo shrt for my feet.
They have the best bottoms i have ever used. The rubber isn't soft, it's nice and firm, and there is hardly any flat areas on the bottom, so it doesn't stick. I thought converse chucks were good, but the rubber is to soft and too much flatness on the bottom made it stick horribly.
So, I picked up some size 13 new balance (pumas were 12) they give me plenty of toe room, and the bottom has a lot of ridge, like the pumas, and here's the best thing -- all the flat areas are not flat -- they are micro bumpy, and roughly textured. I hope they woprk out well, but for now, what can i do for my toe?

See a doctor and give it time to heal, other than that, there's really not whole lot you can do.

ok, this story is kinda disgusting... well, i find it to be okay, but i'm going to put a little disclaimer up anyway in case people don't wanna read it.. its about my toe injury
while helping my uncle move a while ago, i kinda missed a step going up the stairs and landed on my right big toe... all 300(estimated, i wasn't as big as i am now) pounds of me... i'm not sure how to explain it, but like.. i stepped right on the edge of the next step and then my shoe slipped and somehow i landed on the tip of my toe... it got all bruised up pretty badly, but after a few hours i was ok... then the next day when i woke up i could barely walk and the whole part under the nail was like, purple/black and throbbing with pain... it kept getting worse and got to the point where i couldn't put any pressure on that foot, i had to just kinda hop around and thats when i finally got my mom to take me to a doctor... i dont remember much, but it was some indian (not native american) guy with the same last name as... somebody i know. the name is failing me right no... but what he said was that the pressure was building up under the nail and had no where to go, so it was just getting worse and worse.. so he just took a needle lookin thing (i seem to remember it being kinda like a little screw type needle thing... ) and spun it on my nail with his thumb and indes finger till it went though, releasing all the blood and stuff that was caught inside... there was really quite ALOT of it too, suprised the hell out of me. but after that alot of the pain was gone. at least untill the nail started to come up and eventually it was just hanging on by 1 corner and i had to kinda pull it off the rest of the way. that was... "fun" but it eventually grew back. It is basically back to normal now, just it looks a little weird. i looked it up online somewhere and found that its normal for it to look weird after you lose your nail, after a few years it'll look just like it used to.
so yeah, there's my fun story...
is your nail cracked or is the skin cracked? is it at the tip or really under the nail?
i'd probobly just wait to let it heal... but if it gets worse, do yourself a favor and go to the doctor

It's not getting worse, but you know the half moon thing at the bottom of the nail? That was shifted some out just a little towards the middle of the nail, and its seperated now. It doesnt hurt at all though, I think it's just bruised horribly...

Hehe, news. LAst night I was gonna clean under the nail and trim it, when to my surprise it lifted up. I freaked out, then got a needle and scrape where the thin nerveless skin was holdin it on. Now I am nail-less

i had something like this happen before...i was carrying cinder blocks for a neighbor while wearing flip flops. that was a bad idea. i dropped the block on my right big toe. it got black and purple and stayed like that for a few days. then the nail started to come off. went to bed and woke up and it was gone...had to search for it under the bed cover. quite disgusting and i was like OMG MY TOE. it grew back and seems just as normal as ever...even if it has been many years since the incident. never want that to happen again.

oh oh yuck.
My cousin was a football player (not sure if that had anything to do with it) and had several ingrown toenails while he was in high school. He didn't take good care of it, and I don't think locker rooms and nasty sweaty feet helped, and eventually had to have surgery on it. He's taken much better care of it since, but it looks really strange and has just a little bitty baby toenail now.
My Grandmother's favorite (and I mean FAVORITE) advice to me was always "Take care of your feet." Followed by lectures about getting shoes that fit right.

your feet are very important, duh that is pretty much obvious or else you couldn't walk but diabetics always have to take care of their feet because of circulation issues I guess??? I dunno all I know is my ex husbands ex-step mom had to have part of her foot surgically removed because she was a non complient diabetic and her circulation was all messed up and it got infected inside her foot, it was all black and icky. She had this machine that sucked out all the bad stuff from her foot and put in some sort of medicine. It was weird. That is my icky foot story. WINGS

My boyfriend had a similar thing going on. A year later, it was annoying him so much, we went to the doctor to take it out. The best way :3 They numb your toe so it won't hurt when the WHOLE NAIL IS YANKED OUT! XD Sorry... it was fun shouting that last bit.
