As I mentioned in a previous post, I'm looking to pick up DDR w/ 2 pads.
Which version of DDR is best? MAX or EXTREME? What is a fair price for the game and 2 mats? I've been seeing it for right around $60 including shipping on Ebay.

Price really depends on the quality of the mats. For the cheapy soft mats, about $15 each is the most I'd pay. For Ignition style padded mats, I'd pay up to $45. For metal, you can't really get good quality under $100 each.
As for MAX vs Extreme, it's all a matter of taste. I like Extreme purely because you turn workout mode as an option, and it tracks your play in the other modes. On the downside, there's no dance play option to disable the corners of your mats.

I say DDRmax 1/2 for PS2 and 2 ignitions. You'll spend as much on soft pads i think as much as you would a single ignition and you'll have a working ignition as compared to 3 dead soft pads and one that's ready to asplode. Game choice...i just...i like DDRmax1 the best cause it's the most like the arcade, Max 2 has nonstop custom mode though so i dont' know, it's more a preference, i really hate DDRex though. I... says it all.

Thanks for the replies.
Let me start by saying that I have never played DDR. I've read posts that people were embarrassed to try playing it in an arcade and I am one of those people.
I've lost over 60 lbs by following a low carb diet. Now, I'm just out of shape. I can't seem to motivate myself to get to a gym or anything, but I'm a huge gamer. I thought this might be a way to exercise, game and have fun at the same time.
I am also on a budget and don't want to spend a lot without having ever played it.
On Ebay, I've seen DDR max or Extreme with 2 soft pads for about $60, including shipping. With 2 ignition pads, the price goes up to $75.
Or, I can get one good pad and the game for somewhere in between.
Is Ebay the best place to buy or can i get a better deal elsewhere?
Thanks!

You'll probably get the best price on ebay, but at the cost of accountability and reliability. With RedOctane or LevelSix, you've got customer service to handle problems with the order. That's not necessarily the case with ebay. Watch shipping costs on ebay as well. That $60 order may end up $90+ after shipping costs.

Thanks Abrannon!
I definitely made sure that shipping was included in the pricing that I listed.
Since I am a newbie, I'd rather pay less for the cheaper pads and upgrade them later if they break or I get better.
