Hi everyone,
This is just a warning for anybody buying DDR or other games on the web--avoid "buy-rite video games" at all costs!! I (stupidly) went ahead and ordered from them without reading the web reviews about the store. I placed an order for DDRMAX2 and the Disney DDR. I got NO confirmation email from them, nor a confirmation number, or anything to tell me that my order went through. Except, of course, that my credit card was charged immediately.
I called them up, and they told me that the Disney game isn't in stock, so they were just sending me the DDRMAX one, and charging me the SAME amount in shipping! This was never confirmed with me and I was never even informed of this until I called them. (Which, by the way, is a long-distance phone number: they don't have a 1-800 number. They also don't respond to emails sent to customer service.)
Okay, fine. So this is all awful enough, but then they tell me that it's been shipped already. Well, it's been about a week and a half, and nothing has come. They also haven't given me any confirmation number. I called them today AGAIN and they told me that a confirmation number will come "soon".
So then I went to look up their reviews on the web, and see that there are hundreds of other customers that have been treated like me.
So I just wanted to post this so that anybody out there who might be tempted by Buy-Rite's supposed large selection and good prices will steer clear of this company!!

Check with the BBB, but I believe charging your full order if part of it is backordered is illegal.

Call your credit card company. Explain the situation and ask them to reverse the charge. If anything does come through the mail, contact your credit card company and ask them what to do with it. That's the benefit of using a credit card. They got your back.

Thanks guys. :-) I did lodge a complaint with the BBB (they already have several hundred complaints against this company) and my credit card company is disputing the charges. It just makes me really angry that this company is still in business when they are clearly practicing fraud! If you look on resellerratings.com and similar sites (I know, obviously I should have checked before I bought there!), there are a string of angry comments going back to the year 2000. So I hope that I can share the lessons learned with everyone here: check the reseller ratings first, and don't shop at Buy Rite Games!
