I think that this is one of the most caring and interesting groups on the internet. I think that we have managed somehow to create a wonderful environment for learning and feeling better about yourself. I've never been involved really with a forum group, but this is one that I'd like to stick with. How has GuM affected you?

GuM has affected me greatly. i used to be one of thos typical addicted-to-the-internet types. no excercise, junk food was my creed. and i found these forums when i was thinking "Pfft....whats so great about DDR?" well, i was lurking around the boards for a while.....and i found myself gravitating toward it more and more every day. maybe it was seeing people like me actually making a difference in their lives from the games, maybe it was the great atmosphere. whatever it was, it motivated me to get a pad and a game, and it was all over from there. i fell in love with the game and the forums

The best thing about GetUpMove.com for me has been just seeing other people going through the same kind of nonsense that I find myself going through as I'm trying to lose weight. The two things that everyone on here has in common are: 1. We all enjoy DDR. 2. We are all trying to use DDR as a way (or as a complement to another way) of losing weight. The hardest thing about trying to stick to a diet and exercise plan for me is not being able to rope anyone around me into doing it with me. Here, I have over 1,000 people also trying to use DDR to lose some weight, all who are going through the same thing as me . . . it's motivating to know that I'm not the only one. Also, instead of just depending on one diet buddy that could easily fall off the wagon and bring me down with them, I have a whole website full of people who are writing daily about what they've done to benefit themselves. It's like a challenge to myself . . . if all these people can stick to their plans, then I should be able to as well . . . That's what GUM does for me UJKitten

Well, the reason I like these forums so much is the people. Everyone here is very friendly and helpful.
We're all in the same boat, we're all trying to lose weight and we're all interested in DDR. Lots of forums about health and fitness online are filled with incredibly athletic people concerned with being incredibly fast, and strong, and taking all kinds of supplements and living at the gym etc., while here everyone is just trying to improve our health and have fun doing it.

Yeah. Too many people are coming on TV and the internet saying you can't eat carbs and you have to run around and do pilates and take vitamins to get healthy. It all looks so completely boring that it turns most people off. This DDR community has shown me that losing weight is the most awesomest fun ever. I don't think I could have made it without you guys' tips and ideas. Thanks !
