I'll second that. I know what it feels like to be unhappy looking in the mirror . . . but what counts is what's in your heart, not what other people see when they look at you with just their eyes.
Don't be so hard on yourself. Definitely do something like DDR for your health . . . because being honestly, truly alive and being happy are the most important things, regardless of how you look. If you need encouragement . . . you know where to come!

Well to me it is part visual and part internal. I just feel tired ALL the time, and sometimes have no energy at all. I just need to get a grip on my health so I can look better and feel better, that way I can have more self-confidence to meet new people.
But on the other hand, sometimes it can be funny being the big guy....Like trying to convince the class that it wasn't you that farted this time (darn skinnies)....lol

Hm. Probably seeing RESULTS on the scale every once in a while, and it's more of fear that I'm going to eat my way back to chubbiness =P I guess being surrounded by people who run/excercise a lot too is motivation, and the fact that I know my type of excercise is more fun

I want to stop being tired all the time. I know I can do this, and after finding out recently that my beta protein in my blood is too high, that scares me. I also want to look better for my boyfriend. I know he doesn't care, but I'm so self conscious about myself, and it bugs me.

another thing that keeps me motivated is that when ive lost all this weight and people can tell, i dont want to just give up and gain it all back, because everyone would know.

A few reasons:
One, my family has a history with cancer, diabetes, and some heart problems, so I want to do what I can to prevent them and to live as long as I can.
Second, I was one of the fat kids in school and was picked on a lot. I'd like to get into shape so I can feel better about my body. I'm also thinking about Coast Guard and I'd like to get into shape before I join to make boot easier (even if I don't, it's still nice to get into shape).

hey whats up? im new here so hello ^_^.What keeps me motivated is that i just got addicted to this game after soooooooo long of avoiding it. Im 22 and not really overweight in terms of looks but im chubby and ppl like my appearance but i dont so i just wanna like myself at least.Plus, added motivation comes from me going to japan in 2 years as a foreign exchange student if i do things right. I wanna look awesome when i go there cuz im obssessed with japan and everything about it.

What keeps me motivated is the game itself, somehow I'm just an addict. I love the music, love the challenge, love the endorphines, and love how I feel.
Been DDR'ing now about 5 hours a week for over 8 years and I love every minute of it (other than when the pad gives me a miss).
What I don't love is that I totally neglect all my other games, I used to be an avid gamer 8+ years ago, now I have a pile of games that I haven't even played once that I want to but I have no time. However for DDR I always have time, I make it a priority in my day.
