Anyone here who plays pump? I personally like it more then DDR, but im alot worse at it then ddr. I like the music and the steps more. I do DDR for exersice though cuz i go at dave and busters and when u get soda u get FREE REFILLS, so i dont get a good workout. (damn moutan dew). I was just wondering if anyone was in the same boat.

Hehe, I havent had any kind of Soda in about...a year and a half. Only drink water and juices. Good for cleaning up acne and keep weight down, cuz I bet if I was still drinking Soda (like 12 cans a day) I would have shot well above the 300 pound mark.

I made the switch from regular pop to diet a year or two ago, but I havent been able to eliminate diet pop from my diet yet. Giving up my diet pepsi would make losing weight much harder I think, so one thing at time, once I lose some weight, i'll try giving up diet pop, and other forms of caffeine most likely.

Given that we're only three months away from a PIU release on the Xbox and PS2, I'll post some more thoughts here. PIU *is* harder than DDR for a number of reasons. 1. 5 "arrows" - there are an order of magnitude more combinations of foot position that can be dictated with five arrows than with four. Remember it's not jsut where you step, but how you got there, and how you're going to get to teh next step that matters. 2. Flat color arrows - Playing DDR, you train yourself early on to recognize rhythms based upon the color of the arrows involved. With flat color arrows, you have to rely on being able to perceive the distance between arrows to get the rhythm correct. Play DDR with the "Flat" mod on to practice this. I also find that the 2x modifier in PIU helps spread the arrows out, making for easier reading. 3. Triple arrows - at the higher levels of PIU, you are occasionally asked to hit 3 or more arrows at the same time. You only have 2 feet, so you have to get creative. I won't say either game is better, they're different beasts. Arcade operators tend to like PIU, becasue the initial investment is less (a PIU machine runs about half the cost of a DDR machine). This is probably due to Andamiro trying to get into the market while fighting the Skaff Effect. The Skaff Effect probably also helps explain why Andamiro would help Roxor an ostensibly competing product (In the Groove).

heh i was on vacation in Perdido Key, FL on the border of Florida and Alabama. Its a pretty remote vacation spot and my buddy and I went into town to try to find a DDR machine. We found 1 small arcade with 1 pump it up machine. We were like "Ok. whatever, it cant be that different from DDR"...boy were we wrong... till this day I still completely suck at that game lol
