I just dont do the workout mode, I do endless mode, cause I just dont believe though calories burnt counters to be accurate. Plus I'm doing cardio, so I just do it for as long as I can, that way I'm sure I'm burning off something I guess.

I would do endless mode but since Ultramix does not have it, I have to do Workout mode.
Even though it is inaccurate, the calories counter tracks the history though and you do see a progression as to how far you have come over time.
There are too many factors for a calorie counter to ever be accurate, for instance it does not take into consideration any and all of your arm movements, or how high up you bring your legs.

I really don't like endless mode, i played it once and didn't like it. I've been playing workout mode and have lost 39,000cals since july/04 plus sometimes i would forget to save.. ne day I did 1300cals in 4 hours or something played all day. and another day I only did 60

Again, this topic now has nothing to do with DDR vs Diet anymore. Both DDR and Diet are needed, cardio and diet that is

Hello got an account just to reply to this lol On the idea of DDR vs Diet here is why DDR is 1000x better Diets suck DDR is fun so on a diet u have to carefully monitor ur food intake etc DDR u step on and play lol. Mix ddr with alittle healthy eating like having half a sub on whole wheat instead of having that half a pizza lol
In general exercise beats diet I mean u drop ur calorie intake to 2500 a day right? through a diet and u expend 3000 so that is -500 calories right? how long can u be disciplined to keep a diet like that?
Now keep your intake at 3000 and u expened 3000 existing now if u exercised on ddr and burnt 500 u are now at -500 but when u exercise and really push ur body u cause micro traumas in ur muscles and repairing them refueling them with carbs will also burn around 500 so by straight burning 500 ur body has to recoup the muscles so in total burning 1000 which equals-1000 now that's abit of an exageration and it would also take abit of working out to get figures like that but it's the basic idea
so if u enjoy running do it. I just don't know alot of people who do. but you can lose urself playing DDR u can wind up playing 30 songs (home version lol otherwise that's alot of money)
and about fad diets I know how to lose 20lbs in an hour cut off a limb

How long does it take you to not eat that candy bar that contains 250 calories? Which was easier to find time to do?

DDR vs Diet - I think if you do both the weight will fly off. I started excercising about 6 weeks ago (walking 30-40 mins per day) and watching what i eat and the weight very slowly dropped... It was encouraging but I was getting frustrated cos it was taking so long!! Then I found DDR - wow! I always wanted to play the arcade game (love video games of all kinds!) but i just didnt have the courage to try it out in front of all the pro's.. Now I dont walk anymore - I just use DDR every day - often 2 or 3 times. Each time I play i do the game mode for 5 mins to warm up and then switch to burnout mode. My own rule of thumb is to do either 30 songs or 40 mins of playtime - whichever comes first. Well overall it has made a huge difference, the cardio workout really pumps the oxygen in to your body (and you need heaps of oxygen to burn fat) - plus i feel more alert and energised throughout the day - its great! I stared at 120 kgs and tonight i jumped on the scales (not a very good indicator of weight loss really) and it read 113.4 ! Thats awesome - and has encouraged me to keep going

lol candy bar with 250 calories. burning 250 on DDR takes me ...15 mins and thats the diff i burn that candy bar off while having fun while someone who doesn't like / doesn't play DDR nor does a workout the 250 goes into their body and stays there (relatively for simplicity sake we will say u burn it)
I usually play DDR for an hour which is usually about 1000 calories so that 250 calorie candy bar doesn't affect me much matched with a diet that supports me body and gives it what it's need and a good workout routine make me a calorie burning machine

I hope I'm posting in the right place....
Um..this is my first post ever and I was wondering if this game would be right for me to try. I'm seeking a great way to lose weight and look good for my upcoming wedding in 3 years and my time is not too limited so would this game work for a person who has never known what its like to be thin? I've tried everything, Atkins, LA Fitness, Diet, gyms, doctors, pills, nothing works and it makes me feel rotten after losing a few pounds and packing on more than what I weighed before....sigh.... its depressing. :'(Would this game work for me?

Possibly, it all depends on if you enjoy the game or not. If you don't enjoy it, you won't do it, and it can't help you. But it's certainly worth giving a go. The only thing you have to lose is weight.
