I'm surprised there isn't already a thread for this. If there is just delete this thread. www.gamespot.com/news/6165270.html"Konami today created an intersection between those two stories with the announcement of Dance Dance Revolution Hottest Party for the Wii. Using a traditional DDR dance pad in conjunction with the Wii Remote, DDR Hottest Party requires players to match controller movements with the remote and Nunchuk attachment, as well as dance steps. The game will also support up to four players in multiple game modes and minigames. In addition to the series' free play and workout modes, Hottest Party will challenge players to dance in synch with one another, as well as offer a new support mode and an updated battle mode. The game will also sport a new soundtrack with songs pulled from the last four decades of popular music. " I'm excited. ^_^.

did everyone just come back out of nowhere? I feel like I'm in the cool kids club now. Pretty much sums it up... Anyway, sounds like it'll involve something closer to actual dancing. Which is a big BOO for me.

I wonder how it would be playing the Wii DDR... you're basically using both hands and feet, so it would help you exercise indoors....

Found this in my Nintendo Power for September 2007.
Article Titled :
Feel the Heat : Dance Dance Revolution Hottest Party
Release: Fall 2007
Whereas EA's Boogie is going for a pick-up-and-play dancing experience on Wii, Hottest Party takes the opposite approach by being arguably the most involved dancing game to date. In addition to the already challenging up, down, left, right dance-pad action that the series is known for, the Wii-exclusive title throws motion control into the mix with flicks of the Wii remote and nunchuk. Hands-and-feet-on time with Hottest Party proved to be quite a mental and physical workout, but also a lot of fun. You'll follow onscreen arrows just like in any DDR game, along with new icons to represent your hand movements. Other icons, such as Missiles, Double Stomps, and Foot Destructors make the action even more intense - especially at higher difficulty levels. The dance pad, which comes bundled with the game, connects conveniently into a GameCube controller port on the Wii. (If you've got a DDR Mario Mix dance pad, it will work just fine.) For fans of the series, Hottest Party may be a much needed next step up for the franchise. The song list is large and varied; the modes, some of which support four-player action, are many; and motion control adds a challenging new element to the classic formula. You can try it for yourself this fall. -- Andy M.
What think you DDR players?

I'm actually really exited for Hottest Party, I'll defiantly try it with the Wiimote but I'll most likely disable later.

The Wii-Mote feature in the new DDR sounds interesting, but I'm also hoping that there's an option to turn it off to play some old school DDR.

There probably will be. From what I saw, the Wii-mote enabled stuff was very similar to the Eyetoy-enabled mode on the PS2 (i.e. just adding raise you right or left hand as step options)

hey, i'm new here so Hi! I'm Zeus. I'm an experienced DDR player who just bought this game about 2 weeks ago. I stumbled along this site with a search for active ddr health forums so this is cool!
second. I love this game! it's great. GET IT! the hand moves feel good to do. they add a great new experience to ddr. though, I wish this game had more songs or at least a download feature. oh well. maybe they'll have it in the next version.

I do expect Konami to make a Hottest Party 2, because from the looks of Hottest Party, Konami was trying to test out a new system and if this does well they should make a bigger game with more songs.
