I don't post much, but i've been trying to find an answer to this...
I like to play, but my room is right over where most people are during the day and I always seem to stop myself from trying my hardest and moving as fast as I can due to the noise it makes.
I don't think anyone would mind, but I just don't feel comfortable making alot of noise if that makes sense? O.o
So, is there any way to make less noise, and do metal pads make more or less noise?
Thanks

haha i had this problem too its s00o0o frustrating to know you're not playing ur best bc of making noise. At first i tred just taking stuff off shelves and playing with volume low--didnt help much and its hard 2 play with the volume low. Now I moved it down to my basement which is skeevy but at least its a cement floor and practically a dungeon. Once, i set it up outside hhahaaha that worked but i was paranoid about being seen.

I had that issue when I started playing. It wasn't until a few months later that I developed my own technique to play quieter. I call it the tip-toe. When you step, you use the front part of your foot to minimize impact with the ground, consequently resulting in less noise. Leastways, it works for me.

That's how I started playing too... problem with it is when you come to doing advanced songs it screws you up.... doing quick jump combinations on tiptoe is really hard. But for the most part, it works pretty well...(up to about a 9 footer)

I find using the balls of my feet (or tip -toeing) actually easier, especially on the hard songs 0_0

That's how I play...on my tip-toes. It makes me fel less fat, because then the stuff on the shelves don't rock HAH HA HAH!!!
