Hail, everybody.
So, I've been looking around for a good DDR pad that'll end up lasting me a while. I've only had one pad, but it recently bit the dust. I've had it for about...two or three years. Yeah. It's been that long. It wasn't even a thick foam pad. But, I've recently been noticing issues with it. Things like large tears and, of course, the horrible "no response" they sometimes go through.
It's one of those wireless pads, and it's -so- annoying. I'll be playing a song and when I go to hit the up arrow, it'll say: "BOO!" Even when I -know- I hit it. Also, it will scan through random options and levels becaused something is being pressed down, even if I'm not standing on it. So, I'm sick of those kinds of pads.
It's been like this for a while now, so I'm at the end of my rope for this. Sure, it last me a good long while, but I also don't like it when you have to re-adjust to the arcade versions of the pads. I like to try and play on those everytime I can, but my pad is smaller, so the arrows are placed closer than the real ones. Definitely not cool when you try to impress people at a movie theatre. xD
So, I'd have to say I have two questions in this one post. My first question would be for anyone out there who bought they're own or managed to get their own metal DDR pad. -ARE THEY WORTH IT?- Are they worth the amount of money they are sold for? It's kind of a lot of money to spend on a metal pad, but, in the end, are they worth the money?
Also, my other question is between the Tournament and the Champion Metal DDR pads. -Which one to get?- They can be found on www.ddrgame.com. The differences between them is that the Tournament is just a metal DDR pad without the bar behind it, and the Champion is with the bar; just like the arcade versions.
Now, it'd be great to have the Champion, but the only issue with that is they cost one-hundred dollars more than the Tournament version. I was looking at that and thinking: "Hm...that can't be right." Yes, the bar is good for people who are -INSANELY- good at the game and need it to play MAX 300 on Heavy mode or WTFever, but...I'm not that insane right now. I'm on Standard mode, working on Heavy.
So...those are my two questions. Just wondering if anyone had any pointers or opinions! Thanks!
