First of all... www.geocities.com/ddrhomepad/There's the pad I'm planning to build. I know at least 1 or 2 people here have built this one. So a quick question. What're the arrow graphics made of and where can I get em? I feel like there's something else I wanted to ask before we got started. I'll add it later if I think of it.

Just a simple glossy printout from FedEx/Kinko's mounted under a layer of acrylic. Even just a simple pintout from a home color printer will do.

Thanks... a couple more questions.
#1) It's a little confusing on how the arrows are held into the pad. How are the arrow panels actually attached? Is it screwed through those corner braces?
#2) There's a little conflicting stuff in the reading. At one point, he said to use MDF rails, but on the third diagram, he says to use pine. Which one is it? Or rather, which one did you guys use, and does it work well?

1) The arrows are held in by the "x" framework (i.e. the other 5 panels). The corner braces provide a lip for the acrylic to be held down, and by screwing the "x" onto the base, you hold everything together. Not great for individual panel troubleshooting, but you don't have screws on the surface of the pad.
2) He advocates Pine, after finding that the MDF split easily: "UPDATE - Because the MDF splits easily, I would use some other 1 inch by 2 inch rail, something cheap like pine. "
