So I figured it out last night, and I've averaged spending $94/month on DDR since I started playing in January 2005.
UM1 - $30 UM Songpacks: $40 ITG - $30 2 Madcatz Beat Pads - $140 RO Ignition - $170 EX2 - $60 PS2 (I only bought it so I could ITG) $270 + mem card Materials to build my own metal pad - $250 Arcade - Approx. $350 Running shoes for DDR - $30 DDR Clothes - $50 UM3 and UM2 - Free
= Approx. $1420 CDN
...Yikes. Although IMO, it was worth every penny.
How much have you guys spent?

DDRMAX - $40 DDRMAX2 - $40 Extreme - $40 Extreme 2 - $40 2 Levelsix ignition style mats - $100 PIU - $60 (Minus $25 in trade-in games) - $35 ITG + mat - Free Ignition v2 - Free PS2-> PC Adapter - $15
Total $310 (Over 3-ish years, that's less than $10/month)
Still to buy: Xbox - Hopefully $100 UM 1, 2, & 3 - Probably $40 each Songpacks for said Ultramixen - $$$ Metal pad materials - ~$100 Additional PIU Mat - $20
Which would more than double my spending in one shot.

I don't really know how much everything costed, as most of my DDR equipment came from Xmas, but I'll take a rough guess...
PS2 - $200 DDRMAX2 - $40 2 Ignitions - $150 ITG + ITG pad (it was free, cost the same as just the game) - $40
Total - $430? Again, it's a rough guess. Expect this number to go up if I ever get a chance to go to the arcades...

I think I'm only at about $100. I got my second really soft pad (the foam-less kind), Extreme, and Max as presents. I've only paid for Max2 and my first two pads.
But all said and done, Max, Max2, Extreme, two foamless pads, and one ebay special thick pad. At a guess.. maybe $180 US? After tax?

I haven't spent as much as I thought on it. We were given E2 and traded in some games that came with our Xbox for a big savings on UM
Extreme 2 Bundle - Free Madcatz Ps2 pad - $18 Max 2/ebay - $32 Xbox - $150 (but came with other games and controllers) Ultramix Bundle - $14 Madcatz Universal - $55 ____________________ Total - $269CAD Since 12/05

Is a Cobalt Flux in my future? At the rate you seem to burn through Ignitions, I'd say that yes, a Flux (or afterburner) would probably be a good investment.

...1 crappy RedOctane metal pad $200... Not an afterburner, apparently. I'd say yes to a cobalt...

I am at about 200 ish, I have 1 madcats foam insert soft pad, UM3 set with super soft pad, DDR MM with super soft pad and UM2 that I picked up a couple weeks ago.
I want to get UM1 just so I can try it out and see what kind of songs it has, I am not a big fan of UM2 as I really like the Japaneese songs on UM3 and 2 doesnt seem to have to much of that, or they are all unlockable, havent gotten that far yet.

Went and did it. Ordered a cobalt flux. Tired of shelling out bucks for soft pads. I hope this will be the end of all that. At the rate I go through Ignitions, it should pay for itself within a year. It will be interesting to see what it does to my game.

you know what If I tallied up all the $$$ I've spent on Music Game stuff It would be scary, and besides I most likely couldn't remember all the stuff I've bought anyway.
