I'm curious what you guys normally do for your DDR routine?
Personally, right now my DDR routine is 45 minutes of ITG each day. I use Fitness Mode and set it to random five-footers for 45 minutes, which works out to 23 songs. Often I'll stretch instead of stepping during one of the early songs, especially if there's a song I hate early on. I usually use the last song to cool down, by stepping only on the regular notes and skipping all the jumps, 1/8th notes etc.
I always wear a heart monitor while I play to ensure that this is about the right level of difficulty for me. When my heart rate starts being consistently under 150 average with five-footers, then I'll be ready to move up to 6-footers, finally!

I guess I generally play three or four 6 or 7 footers. I move on and play some 8 footers, then a few 7s. Then, I go and mix between 9s, 10s, and 7s, (like I play a 9, then 7, then 10, then 7, then 9, 9, 9, 7, etc.) Then I usually close with a few easy songs, and my last song is always some 10 footer than I can't pass, usually MaxX Unlimited...

I would usually do an 1-2 hours day. I used to do 500 simulated calories in UM1, then do 500 more on UM2. When I got ITG, I would do 50 minutes of shuffled 8's, then 20-30 of shuffled 9's, then if I felt up to it another 20 mins of shuffled 7's or 8's. Recently though I've been exchanging DDR time for time at the gym - I try and make sure to get in at least 50 minutes of exercise a day.

if I'm at the arcade I will usually start it off with some personal favorites... holic, dam dariram, superstar.... u know... easy but fun heavy songs. Then I go and do a nonstop mode. By the end of that I'm nicely warmed up so I kick into my difficult songs... I always do the first two songs with hard heavy's that I'm confident in passing and then throw in that omg I hope I can pass this heavy as my third song.
If I'm at home I usually do about 6 standards to warm up and then kick it up to heavy...and eventually go back to standard to wind down..

I just jump in whenever I feel like it and do every song on Standard that I'm confident I can pass without turning my legs to jelly ( which does not include Daikenkai ). If I know I can't do it on Standard, but it's too easy on Light, I just skip it. I hate doing songs where there isn't an almost constant arrow flow. But at the same time I hate doing songs where there's too many arrows for realistic movement to the music. Most heavy songs seem like that to me; just activity for activity's sake. So I'll be sticking with Standard. I randomly do DDR, so most of the time it's not planned and I just hop up and do it until I get tired or decide to do a song that turns my legs to jelly and then can't do it anymore. Which is about an hour for me.

I'm basically in it for the fun, so that's my goal for my workouts, just to have fun. I do about 90 minutes 4-5 times a week at home -- warm up with 2-3 4/5 footers on Standard, then play mostly on Heavy, but I go by "how hard it is to catch my breath." If I get done a song and cannot talk to someone, I'm working too hard and go back to Standard for a bit, or even Light sometimes, then back up again when I feel ready. Going up and down has really helped my stamina and endurance.
