If I had started with IN THE GROOVE I never would have become a DDR player. I sold my copy on Ebay - just hated it. Enjoyed the songs..but couldnt stand the load time. I would start out with DDR Extreme or Revolution ..anything but In the Groove. but if you started with ddr you would never be a good itg player. according to what your saying

She said that if her first experience with Dance games had been ITG, she'd have never gotten into them in the first place.

Orangina, if you play ITG in workout mode then it doesn't have the long load times.

A is right. If I had started with In The Groove, I would not have purchased any more DDR Games..likely sold my pads and retired to coach potato dum...
The load times on the songs drove me nuts! I sold my copy on ebay.
I do own all the Konomi DDR games right down to Disney and have to admit that the initial games though fun ..can be frustrating because of the having to land on pad "just so" .
I am considering getting rid of all my PS1 games and sticking to the PS2 ones.
BTW I LOVE DDR Extreme 2! Just wish that calories could be counted no matter where you play...and wonder why its 100,000 points to buy a new outfit.

I have NO problems with load times.... the ONLY load time problem I have is with ultramix 3... it take like 5 minuetes to load the song packs!!! BOO!

One thing I've found that helps with ITG load times is if you can get your hands on a copy of HDloader, and pre-load the game onto the PS2 hard drive. The faster seek times and higher transfer rates go a long way toward correcting the load times issue.

Banana..isnt workout mode lots harder in ITG than the pick your pace at Konomi? Are the load times as good as the Konomi games? You can pick whatever level you want; so in that since it's neither harder nor easier. I totally understand what you mean about the load times when choosing individual songs in regular play mode - I played that way once, and never went back, because I couldn't stand waiting for the load times. But in workout mode, there is NO waiting in between songs; it is truly a continuous mode. And you can really keep the level consistent between songs by choosing "continuous X-footers" rather than "continuous standards", since standards vary SO much in difficulty, but 5-footers, say, don't. For me, it's the most efficient way to get a DDR workout, because if I play for 45 minutes, then I really am playing for the full 45 minutes, not choosing songs, wasting time on too-easy or too-hard songs, waiting for songs to load, etc.

Here's the bad part. Sony's legal team jumped all over HDLoader when it came out (small wonder), and they eventually pulled the product. It can still be found various places online (or it's cousin, HDAdvance). There are also some less than honest ways to get HDLoader, using what may be called a 'sploit to get it to load directly from the PS2 memory card with the assistance of any PS1 game. But such things are surely beneath the high moral fiber of the members of this board, and I shall speak of them no further.

That does sound good banana..but my copy is gone now..Sadly I got nowhere near what I paid. The game does not seem to sell that well.

It's a niche game in a niche genre, everybody who would want it got it when it came out (or at Best Buy on Black friday). Once it's gone, as new DDR players come into the game, it'll go up a little bit in value, I think.

I dont think so A. I tried to sell mine on Amazon first where things sell FAST esp. when its barely used with upgraded shipping. I priced it cheaper than anyone on there..( I have a good seller rating) Normally I would turn something like that over in notime..but it didnt sell. Right now you can buy it on there for $18..that I predict will go down. I ended up selling it on ebay just to unload it.
Why would it be gone anyway..are they planning to take it off the market?

Games are only produced in certain run sizes, and unless that run sells out with indications that there's still a market for the game, they don't generally reprint. Yes, you're right, it will go down in price for, I'd guess, at least the next year.
