There will be a national namco DDR tournament happening August 11th - 17th at all namco arcades w' extreme machines. Pre-registration is only $8 and you are competeing for $10,000 in prizes.
Rules:
~no sandbaging
~no mods

sorry yeah - I had to ask what that was as well. That's baisicly like - no cheating. Like - if you are a heavy player, don't compete in standard mode.

correction: if you read the rules, it says that there are no modes in the qualification rounds. mods are allowed throughout the tournament, except for little and stealth. solo is allowed only if both players agree.

i talk to the dude incharge of the tournament in Visalia and read the paper he got.... the rules and settings are as followed...
settings for arcade and rules
1. the game will be on level 3 difficalty (easer then what we have in Visalia)
2. it will be set on event mode so you can fell a song and still keep playing it all the way through.
3. it will be a perfict attack meaning that who ever gets the most perfict wins... ( if tie in perfics move to the most greats, etc... etc....) if a tie all the way.... (both players AAA the song) a redo will be done.
4. there must be at least "8" people in the tournament to get started if the city having the tournament can't get 8 or more people to inter they don't have the tournament.
5. mods can be used, and solo only if "both" say yes to it.
6. (they didn't say anything about the bar so i "think" you can use it if you want and nothing bad happes.)
7. no sandbagging no one playing on heavy all day long inter the tournament on standard devision, or standard to light. this will lead to them kicking you out of the tournament. (if you do hope they can't prove it).... just don't AA or AAA the songs.... they'll find you out if you do.....
rules for the player order
1. no mods on qualification song.
2. one person rolls a 6-sided di, call even and odds. the person who gets it right get to pic the side (1st or 2nd player side) the 1st and 3rd songs.
3. the other play then gets to pic the "mods" for 1st and 3rd songs.
4. the other player who piced song one pics the "mods" for the 2nd song.
it is $8.00 to inter the tournament when they start letting you inter, $10.00 at the door.
note: rules may very from place to place because of personal beliefs of the people invaled in the area.... though they are to do it this way you never know what they have in mind.
