If I thought my idea was in any way non-intuitive, then yeah, they "stole" my idea. But if you think about it, that's the only sane way to run a DDR session of more than 4 people.
What really intrigues me is the new hard rubber dance mats they're making for use with this. Looks cheaper and lighter weight than a metal mat, but you can still play in shoes on it. And they're PS2 compatible. I'd love to see those make it to the home market.

I use ddrfreak as my home page so I'v none about this for a whlile And you didn't feel the need to share it with us, choosing instead to give the "boobs and DDR" thread a pointless bump?

I know. Still, it's neat when the experts design something in the exact same way you envisioned it working.

That's a really awesome concept! Several people at once can play at the same time and the main focus is getting a workout...though, I personally prefer working out and playing DDR in the privacy of my own home.

I wish they would do something like this for my PE class. It would be alot better and more benifiting I believe than making us run laps around the school. This way we could burn calories and get different types of workouts.

Well, since it only supports 8 users, it might not be feasible (especially not for public schools). It depends how much the entire setup costs. You need 8 heavy-duty mats (plus instructor mats), the screen and projector (plus a TV for the instructor), the PS2, and the game. Mind you that I'm sure this stuff will all be packaged together; this is just to drive in the potential cost for the whole setup. It would be cool, though.

My guess is retail cost of the setup would be around $5000. A "certified" instrctor wouldn't need a tv or screen, as they'd have the routine memorized, and wouldn't even need a fully functional mat. If retail is $5k, then production cost would be around $3500 which would make a great write-off/promotional gig for Konami to donate to educational programs. Set it up as a rotating after-school program once a week, and you can cover 5 schools with one setup (it's fairly portable).

That would be a good idea. You could use it in public schools if you have the room for it and there aren't tons of kids per class. It could function well with those conditions if kids switched off between DDR, lifting weights, doing cardio and stuff like that. You could get a multi-range workout.
I don't know if I want to see any of my PE instructor leading a DDR workout though. XD

Actually, that is a very feasible idea! Uh Voco, you might want to put together a very professional looking presentation on why your school district should get this setup in the way he just described.

It was wrong, but...well it is the only way of boosting the chance of it getting to her specific school before she graduates. Gotta get noticed!
