arcade!

has anyone done this?you have a mat at home and a game,but you go to the arcade alot because you can impress a crowd plus theres more songs.then one day you decide to go to the arcade.you beat a record of your own.then when you get home and play your game but you suck horribly.then you realize that youve played at the arcade so much that youve gotten used to the arcade mat and cant play at your own house.so you have to start of at a stage lower thenthe one you are at and work your way up.or is it the opposite anyways if you do the arcade thing then you are spending lots of money wicht could go towards other games!

Personally I like the arcade better than the home mat, because I started in the arcade. We had a big group of kids go to Nicklemania EVERY weekend and stay up there for 6-8 hours at a time. And, I can AA more songs at the arcade than I can at home, mainly because my CF pad isnt 100% like the arcade pad (cant slide..etc). But, playing at home is reserved for working out or just screwing around with friends, and the arcade is for showing off as well...but I prefer to do that.

I seem to concentrate better in the arcade (maybe because I dont wan't to waste the money and it seems to get more AA's than I do at home.

However, soft pads are a bit easier to play on I think. you can slide between the arrows on tough songs which you can't really do on metal pads (i can pass Max 300 heavy at home by doing this, but fail miserabley at the arcade ). Still, metal pads it's a lot easier to tell where your feet are.

Both provide slightly diffrent gameplay enough to make me want to play on a machine when i see one .

I got use to playing on my mat at home and I've been to the arcade a few times and my grades there are on average 2 letters less than when I play at home.

I have that kind of problem. I play at the arcade and AAA heaps of my favourite songs, but when i play on my friends dance mat at home I suck bad, like B on Standard bad...

I never got a AAA at the arcade before which shows I am like 6x better at home.

There's actually a machine in the complex where I work. Well, there's several really. And beatmania, and drummania, and guitafreaks, and other stuff. It's pretty cool. :D

It's not like playing a real guitar, but on the plus side, it helps with dexterity in your fingers...You could say it's a decent way to "warm up" your fingers. That's just my opinion, because in the harder settings of the games it takes alot of dexterity to do some of the licks.

What about Drum Mania? Or Keyboard Mania? Fun games! ;D
