Greetings everyone! After reading some articles about the health benefits with DDR, so I decided to give it a try. I've had problems with my weight, off and on, for many years. I actually lost about 75-100lbs about 2 1/2 years ago, but have since put most of it back on. I'm 22, 6'6", and probably about 350lbs. However, I carry my weight pretty well. I've also been a pretty good dancer my whole life (thanks to my wanting to be like Michael Jackson in the '80s!).
I had only played DDR one time at an arcade before I got my own pads two days ago. I picked up two generic ignition 2.0 pads off ebay and just started playing. (I got two pads because I'm going to attempt to modify one before investing in a very expensive one)
So far, Dancing is great!!! It's so fun and such a great workout! I'm actually playing the Stepmania PC DDR game, but I'm going to pick up DDRMAX2 real soon! I've already recommended this to some friends of mine! I guess I'll be comming here looking for tips and stuff. I'm mostly playing on the light modes right now, but I'm already getting a lot better. Right now I'm covered in sweat from an hour of dancing!
I lift weights sometimes and do other non-cardio workouts, but I think DDR may be the first cardio workout I'll be able to do consitently. It's just so fun!
Anyway, I just wanted to introduce myself to everyone because you'll probably be seeing more of me! ;D

I'm actually playing the Stepmania PC DDR game, What PS2 -> USB converter do you use? I bought DDR for PC bundle and the game did not react to the pads well enough. In fact it never registered the double arrows. On Stepmania website I read that it's USB converter's fault...
