So I notice different places have different rules and whatnot. And also, new people fail to know them and old people get pissy and then the argue and there's problems and anger and unhappiness And that's just not GOOD. So what rules do you guys have and where are you? I'm in Lowell, Mass We follow the coin line rule generally, if there are enough people to warrant it. As for song selections, we usually let one guy pick the first and last songs and the other pick the middle one. There's never been a formal way for song selection because everybody's nice. Newb bashing is a nono unless you know them. If you become friends with the regulars, then we make fun of you to no end. Especially if you're good. But otherwise we try to help  Stealing=Bad Sharing=Good Most of the way we act is common sense. But if there's a lot of people, try to watch for a coin line. How about you guys? Any specific rules? |

Well... We kinda have a coin line... but not with coins? Confusing? It's not! Heres how it goes.
I am Keys, my brother is a game stop card, other people are different things like a metro card, a cell phone, watch, ect.
Works really well and the line keeps on moving. It's always funny when they go,
" KEYS!!! "
" THATS ME!!"
" YOU'RE UP! "
" OKAY!! "

Well... We kinda have a coin line... but not with coins? Confusing? It's not! Heres how it goes. I am Keys, my brother is a game stop card, other people are different things like a metro card, a cell phone, watch, ect. Works really well and the line keeps on moving. It's always funny when they go, " KEYS!!! " " THATS ME!!" " YOU'RE UP! " " OKAY!! " xD Ah, I've seen that. It's actually less confusing than coins. Fortunately we don't have to even USE the coin line usually. ^_^ |

See this is why i like playing at home. Sure its not the "real" way to play, and the purists may scoff.
But i like no lines, no coins, and all the DDR i can handle until my legs fall off.

over here we have card lines but it doesn''t really matter cause everybody knows the songs they wanna do and they'll do it quick

Where I play everyone's fairly cool about taking their turns; sometimes there'll be a coin line but it'll only go one deep on either side. I just wish the really good players would say hi to me.  |

<----Hey new to the site <----long time player what we have is the coin line and basically you put your coin up and wait until everyelse has put their coin before you and then you can go WARNING!!! make sure you watch your coin cuz the N00B's will take them  sometimes people put up cards and other things but rarely unless there is a really big crowed 1)when your waiting for your turn never rest on the bar cuz some people use it (except me!) 2)always tie your shoes tight cuz they might come loose during a fast song 3)Never drink TOO much water (some but not to much) 4)dont get in the habit of speeding up the songs cuz youll get addicted to that speed (just like me  ) 5)dont feel bad that you didnt do well on a song just walk away proudly cuz youll get better thats all that i can think about right now |

What's worse is when you're playing and they put up a quarter and you just see like a mystery hand reaching out and it's going to like get you! It's like ROAR!!! xD. Always distracts me =(. They have DDR at a gaming center I go to, so we don't have to use quarters (which is great! I only have to pay $3 an hour to play) and there are just the common-sense rules that are understood by everyone (or SHOULD be...), like don't lean on the bar behind someone while they're playing, don't hog the song-choosing., etc.

Around here we just use the coin method. I usually play the arcades on a Sunday, cause no one spends Sunday at the mall anymore.
