After playing DDR for several months, it seems that everyone eventually reaches a plateau which they must work extra hard to overcome. (There may even be 2 or more plateaus e.g. Beginners-->getting past 4 footers, Regular players-->advancing to 8, 9, and 10s.) Since I have joined a gym, I have casually talked with a trainer about improving my game and asked her for suggestions before I hired her on permenately. She told me to start running sprints in order to cross-train. Has anyone else asked a fitness trainer about cross-training? Has anyone ever encountered a professional that worked exclusively with DDR players? Is seeking out a trainer going just a little bit too far? I'd like to hear what everyone has to say on this. Thanks!

I think DDR is a bit too niche market right now for personal trainers. I'm willing to bet most gym pros don't even know what it is.

There aren't any trainers...yet. Maybe you could start a trend! "The foolproof cross-training system designed BY a DDR fan, FOR DDR fans..." Lol, I know I'd do a few extra pushups or laps if it were likely to improve my game.

ddr rams.. lol..
Well.. when you hit that plateau like I have seem to do.. I stop for a little while.. I have been dropping lots of weight... If I don't do DDR, I do Pilates for an hour and a half.. That has helped me to tone my body like crazy.. And, it works more parts of your body. In three weeks of using pilates, I've actually dropped more inches.. but ddr makes it all come together.. you always feel like you're doing so much because of all the sweating.

When I read the subject, a vision came up with a trainer next to me, screaming in my ear: You don't have any rythm, watch the television, watch the arrows hahaaha
Don't know any professional trainers, but I guess you really don't need one. As long as you can motivate yourself and keep on dancing, your game and personal fitness will grow! Also I guess that this forum is a great motivation to keep on dancin' ;D
