Hi all! My name is Mike, and I just joined today. I lost 80 lbs a year and a half ago playing ddr, but stopped playing and gained most of it back . I finally forced myself to start playing again this week, and it feels great. I have lost 9 lbs in 2 days already (i have slim fast breakfast, slim fast lunch, healthy dinner) and I DDR for about 1 hour (9-10 footers non stop). I have grown to be really annoyed by my modded soft pad and have a question. Has anyone bought a Cobalt Flux pad? If so, was it worth all the money that you paid for it, and would you reccomend it?

I fall off it a lot....it has no edges to support you....
my arrows at home cracked =(
my friends wood on it started to splinter....
but... there are people out there that really like it
i will stick with a softer pad =)

Unless you AbsolutelyTEXTneed something that looks all shiney and expensive, I would go with the redoctane ignition 2.0 pads, nice and cushiony and pretty fair response I hear. Cobalt Flux is very nice pad, the best out there, but only a 6 month warrenty, so buyer beware!TEXT

Hey Ashe... I dont know how slimfast works...but you might want to think about having your breakfast and then making your dinner one of those slimfasts.
It really depends on how close to bed you eat....cause you really dont want that food sitting in you while you sleep.
I found (For myself personally) that my metabolism is highest in the morning.

Hi Mike, I recently got the doubles pack of Cobalt Flux pads and my kids tell me they're great. I got them 'cause my daughter's metal pad from ebay broke and I am very addicted to DDR. (mostly just the diet mode, or 3-4 foot songs)(g) I bought a RedOctane 2.0 soft pad and it worked great, but I need to wear shoes and if you do on their pad you'll wreck it. (I did)
The only down side for me is that I have a tendency to toe touch the up arrow, and it won't register for me on the Flux pad. My kids say I have to change my technique and transfer my weight to the arrow. Besides, they say if I get real good on the Flux pad, I'll be able to do good on the arcade machines. (which is my ultimate goal)(g)
By the way, my kids have recently tried their hand at doubles pad with single player and enjoy it. My daughter says it makes you more accurate on the single pad 'cause it's more critical that you step correctly on doubles.
