Neighbors

I saw an article about this site and I'm rather interested in the idea of getting into shape with DDR. The problem is, I live on the second floor of a two-story apartment and am concerned that a large person jumping around might seriously bother the downstairs neigbors.

I haven't tried the game, so I'm wondering if people who have used it a lot can tell me if the motions are the kind that will shake the floor, make loud thuds and thumps, and do other general things that will have the neighbors coming with torches and pitchforks.

My friend lived in an apt. that was just like the one you live in. Basically the girl would get very pissed and come up and tell us to stop, but we never did ;D.

I would honestly talk to your neighbors downstairs and tell them the situation and then maybe ya'll can work out an agreement like from certain times you can play DDR.

I'm on 3rd floor of my building and I've never had a complaint.

Seriously, it depends on your building and your neighbors.
At my parents house, the TV room is directly above their bedroom--BAD IDEA. The music at proper DDR level (loud enough to drown out the phone) is obnoxious down there, as is the constant thud-thud-thud when you're stepping, no matter how quiet the music.

If you have a ridiculously sturdy builiding, or neighbors who are never home or make enough noise not to notice, it won't really matter. Talk to your neighbors, maybe find out what hours they usually spend at home and see if you can get your DDR on while they're at work or something.

But it's worth every minute of "shutup" and the pitchforks. I never feel like I'm exercising, I'm so focused on beating my old scores or freestyling.
