Does anybody have any tips for doing better on Burning Heat! ?
I can't get better than a C on it and it's very frustrating.

Play it a SHITLOAD. Also, actually know how it goes, no offense, but I doubt you really know how it goes.

Yeah, I pretty much didn't know how it went for a while. However, I've been playing it a lot on Stepmania. The problem now anyway is my pad, so when I get my CF I should be able to eliminate ghost arrows/pad sliding. Both are the same reasons I can't pass Max 300 yet. I have the stamina, but my pad slides around so much... I also have a question I haven't really thought about much. What do the yellow / blue songs in Max 2 mean? Also, does anyone else feel like MaxX Unlimited on Standard should be a 9, and TLOM on Standard should be an 8? I can A TLOM easily but can only B MaxX.

Of course everyone feels like that on standard. Also, play in the arcade dude, home scores are gay ... New SM scores. PSMO S4R - 30perfects FC! Cartoon Heroes S4R - 3perfects FC Burning Heat S4R - 10perfects FC <--hard

Yeah, I know, I just have a really big mental block when I go to the arcade for some reason. Also, it doesn't let me slide my feet around like it does at home...

That's kind of the point.
It's too easy to play at home. Also, at home the timing windows are altered.

Also, it's not like my arcade is necessarily accessible like yours probably is.
Mine is a half an hour drive from here, and I have no job. I need all the gas I can get during the week, and money for that matter. At 16, it's difficult to find a job around here.

I obviously don't have any, but...
what songs (besides CSFILSM) are best for stamina building, because I just don't have enough for MaxX.

What Insanemidget told me: Chaos runs. V (for Extreme) is good. Anything that goes in the neighborhood of 150 bpm or higher and has an abundance of 16th streams is gold. Witch Doctor is good, but you don't have that one at home...hmm, it really is hard to find the songs with the big + draining chaos runs in the US PS2 releases. Since Witch Doctor seems to work so well, you could try editing its steps into some other 150 BPM song that they can roughly go with. Or you could make your own crazy edit of some song that is similar. Whatever you can figure out.

I've been using CSFILSM, V (Oni,) A (Oni,) Drop Out, Gradiusic Cyber (more for speed purposes,) HVAM, and Orion .78 (civ mix.)

No scores today. I only played Double ($10 worth at token-a-play on Wednesdays means 20 plays or 60 songs!). Nothing too interesting happened. Good stuff:
I can B CSFILSM (which is so much fun). I actually played it several times. It was the one song that seemed to impress the other players whenever I played it.
I passed Boom Boom Dollar K.O.G G3 Mix twice. Both times were my first stage. Rather than being an accomplishment, I think this just proves that it is impossible to lose on your first stage on a 5th Mix Machine. Whenever there was the pattern R1 U1 R1 L2 U2 L2... I always messed up and couldn't hit the ups.
Hot Limit! My first ever long version stage on Double. I got a B. It was long. I got tired. The end.

Maybe it's just me, but I think that step pattern is fairly simple.
I still mess up on the backwards crossovers or whatever...

It is a simple pattern, but at 170BPM it seems crazy. You'd be surprised how hard it is to do it quickly enough! I really need to practice it more.
I guess the hard part about it is that you are doing two crossovers in oppisite directions within a period of four steps. The U1s are hit with the right foot, and the U2s are hit with the left. You COULD painfully 2-step it, but this typically isn't how the stream ends. The stream typically ends by going to L1 or R2 after the corresponding Up, and the next several steps assume that you have ended up on that step in a position that is no longer "crossed over." You could optionally 2-step yourself back into the right footing, but I am definitely not good enough to realize my footing is off until I suddenly have a reading issue with patterns that should be pretty simple.

...and that right there, is why DDR is harder than people think... "Just stepping on arrows," that's what the kids at my school say.
