Ok as we all know, DDR has hit big in USA and is spreading all over the world like an epidemic. Post you ideas about game ideas similar to DDR such as"if you can play an instrument such as guitar(the best thing to use) then make a game where you have to copy patterns and play it. I know its a crappy idea but you get the picture. Post ure ideas.

;;; Wow, you guys REALLY don't know much about the series, yeah? No offense, it's just funny. Pump it Up- Korean version of DDR. 5 arrows, located at up-right, up-left, down-right, down-left, and at the center. Basically in every spot where a DDR pad doesn't have an arrow Para Para Paradise- From Bemani, the makers of DDR. Use your hands through 5 motion sensors to do a Para Para dance routine to songs Guitar Freak- From Bemani. Grab an electric (toy) guitar and hit the right chords throughout the song Drummania- From Bemani. Grab a pair of drumsticks and hit whichever of the 5 drums it tells you to. GF/DM- Guitar Freaks and Drummania linked. These two machines can be linked so that while one person does the guitar on a song, the other does drums on the same song. Truly cool. Beatmania- From Bemani. Be a DJ to all sorts of songs. Has 5 keys and a turntable. Beatmania IIDX (Two DX)- From Bemani. The same as Beatmania, only with 7 keys Ez2Dancer- A combination of stepping on the arrows and using your hands through motion sensors to create a truly good dance. Not Bemani Techno Motion- A DDR type game, not Bemani. Uses 8 arrows instead of 4 KeyboardMania- From Bemani. Have yet to see it around, but wht I've heard is that it's using a set of piano keys to play a song

I think there used to be one on the dreamcast where you use marakas and have to shake them at certain hights and times.

Skar, don't feel bad XD I swear I didn't mean to sound like as big of an ass as that made me look Dreamcast game=Mambo a Gogo. Another bemani game, forgot about that one I've heard tell they have a Korean game where you bang on pots and pans ;; I've also heard of a wierder Korean game, but it's not music related or very PG-13...hell I don't even think it's real.

I remember the day where I played Mike Tyson's Punchout for NES with the Power Glove!

I was playing a Beatmania simulator program for the PC when I realized I sucked. I thought, why can't it be as easy as DDR? Then it hit me. Why don't they do a DDR game where when you hit the arrows, it plays parts of the songs like Beatmania? You already dance to beats and lyrics, why not have it like Beatmania? I would like to play that. It combines the fun of Beatmania with the workout of Dance Dance Revolution. If they used the Solo upper corner arrows, there'd be enough buttons to do it. Add the DDR Max lower corner arrows (that's what I've heard. I've never played the Japanese version of Max so I can't confirm) and there's enough for 7. That would get hectic, but it would be interesting to say the least.

I got another idea recently. Okay, you know how they link Guitar Freaks and Drummania right? What if they were to link Guitar Freaks for guitar sounds, Drummania for drum parts, Beatmania for sound effects and mixing, Keyboardmania for piano parts, Dance Dance Revolution for feet dancing, and ParaParaParadise for hand dancing. That would be a treat for the eyes. That's like a concert of people doing what they do best. Trying to find enough people to do that would be hard, but boy would that be intersting to see.

Ez2Dancer is quite good fun - much less foot-complexity as it's only got 3 stepping panels (left, right, and back). I got hooked on that in the arcade (it's what the Student Union had when I was at uni) and then migrated to DS Euromix / Disneymix at home. I've played Guitar Freaks a couple of times - alright, but there wasn't much at the "competant beginner" range of difficulty on the version I played. Gitaroo Man on PS2 is fun but pretty difficult - purely played on a normal ps2 joypad, varied styles of music across the levels. Interesting story-based attack/defend play mechanic. Vib Ribbon - kinda funky but as it never got a USA release it's not well known (it got a UK/Europe release though! HAH! ). Claim to fame is it generates levels from audio CD tracks - you literally discswap to a music CD and it'll play the tracks. Some songs are abnormally easy compared to how they'd pan out if a human designed the levels, some produce really FIENDISH stuff for no apparent reason. Mad Maestro is really fun - classical music you'll mostly recognise, and very smart use of the PS2's dualshock2 pad's pressure-sensative buttons - most of the time you're just hitting one of the "face buttons" (doesn't matter which one), but the timing and *pressure* of your presses have to be right! Frequency and Amplitude - nifty games, these - you have to "play" a couple of bars of a part within the song to unlock it for a while (you gotta full-combo it for a couple of bars!) - gradually you build up the song. Offers PLENTY of difficulty on later stages in higher difficulty modes (all psx-pad driven, no dancepad potential here).
