can someone explane to me what hte pad covers are and whether it's worth getting them? I read the description on the website: www.redoctane.com/ddrgamecover.htmlbut I'd like to know from people who have used it whether it really works. Thanks!

I have two of them. Personally I really don't use them all too much.
I used them when I used the Mad Catz pads. However, I recently got two official Konami ones so it works good.
When it says they will not cause your dance pad to slip, it isn't true, it will slip no matter what, just as if you weren't using it.
Mainly its just for the protection of the surface of your pad.
Hopefully this helps.

I like my pad cover - it is the Red Octane one. I guess it just depends on the person. I bought a cover from somewhere else once where you could slide a soft DDR pad into it like a sleeve - that didin't work as well, but I ended up using it as part of a mod - now abandoned since I got the Ignition pad. I use the dance cover, ignition pad & a piece of plywood. My pad does still move a little, but no big deal.
