Hello everyone, To lose pounds, what's the recommended mode (beginner, light, easy, heavy) and duration to play. I own the PC version of In the Groove along with a USB dance pad. I usually play for about 40 minutes 4 to 5 times a week on Easy mode. Have I lost weight - unfortunately not much - still in the single digits (a pound here and there) Just wanted to hear others opinions/suggestions on how successful they were in losing weight. Please do mention the mode you play in and the duration too. Thanks!

Firstly, welcome to the community!
Second, a lot of people here are playing in the Hard/Expert realm as far as ITG goes, but that doesn't mean that you have to in order to lose weight. The good thing about dancing games is that they will raise your heartrate and in effect give you an amazing cardio workout! Playing 40-45 mins a day is a great start. Do you feel like it's a workout for you? You should come out of it sweaty and wanting more, so you can go back on it the next day and beat your old scores!
The main thing with weightloss is that you stay on top of your diet. Try cutting out fatty foods and sugary drinks. The more you choose chicken and other lean meats and not a big sloppy hamburger you'll be that much closer. Other members can attest to the diet more than I can, but it's all about the food you put in and the work you put out.
Happy weight loss!

Thanks Grant! Yes, I sweat a lot after the first few songs. It is fun to beat old scores. I decided to move to the next level today and try Medium. Boy! it was tuff. I was exhausted after 30 minutes and had to stop. I have made a diet change for the past 7-8 months. I avoid soda's and have cut down my portions. It helped a lot and I ended up losing 5 pounds in 6 months (pretty slow!) This was without any exercises. Now I'm trying to tie both together - exercise and diet. It is a slow process, but hopefully one day I'll get there! Thanks for replying to this thread!

Don't worry about it, we're all here to support each other with their weight loss goals!
One thing that i find that works for me is counting calories. I usually allocate myself 1200-1500 per day and make sure to DDR for at least an hour a day as well. I always tell myself that if a part of my shirt is dry by the end of the workout that I didn't try hard enough.
Weight loss won't happen overnight, which I am sure you are aware of! But stick to it and you'll be buying new clothes in smaller sizes in no time!
