DDr Extreme glitch (PS2)

My Extreme game has developed a glitch in which for certain songs it will start showing the video, then after a few seconds, switch to the still shot from the beginning of the song and stay there. The music and steps continue as usual.

It *always* does this now for "Only You" and I've seen it happen with at least one other song, but I don't remember which one. It didn't do this originally though, it used to play the video all the way through.

Just wondering if anyone has any idea what the problem could be.

Do you play with the ps2 in the floor near you? I once had a similar problem. Turned to be that the vibrations from dancing would jar the system, gradually scratching up the disk. Eventually songs would start to skip and lock up. These days I always try to play as far away from the ps2 as possible, and sometimes go as far as to set it up in a nearby chair or couch... or something, to cut down on the vibrations.

Can't be for sure if this is your problem too... just sharing a personal experience. I don't know what else would cause it to do what you're describing.

Hmmm. I don't know if that's the problem in this particular case, but I am also having a problem with Extreme 2 getting stuck (so bad it has to be turned off and back on) and that might well be the issue. Not sure if it's possible to move the ps2 though.
