I need some motivation to stay in weight control mode over the holiday season. All I have is junky snacks. Anybody have some new recipes for healthy and/or low-cal snacks to have on hand? Something that says "holiday-special-treat?" I need something beyond the boring veggie/dip plate.

How about Oatmeal Raisin cookies? You have the high fiber content in the oats along with the vitamins in the fruit (craisins are good too), plus it tastes good (leastways, I think so).

Hmmmm, yes oatmeal cookies would be more filling, so might eat less. I like the idea of using Craisins too for holiday. Thanks.

If you like traditional mince pies, you could try making filo mince parcels, the filo would cut down dramatically on the calories, and I am sure you can buy lower calorie mince pie mince.

Oranges and Pomegranates are yummy ^_^ Although not the healthiest, Latkes are yummy, I used zucchini to make latkes and they turned out very good. Rosemary and thyme some bread crumbs and an egg. wring all the water out of the zucchini and then mix together, form into lil hashbrown patties and fry in olive oil. they are very yummy! My 6 year old raved about them, oh and serve them with fat free sourcream...

Thanks, going to try those ideas. Plus somebody saved the day by sending me a Harry and David package, with those yummy pears, and also grapefruit and oranges. Out with the pies, in with the fruit!
