My mom has one. I've tried it and it actually gives your abs a good workout.

I'm not going to beat a dead rug over and over, BUT --- Save your money. To be blunt, if you're not willing to put forth the hard work and effort to reduce the rest of your body fat, no amount of crunches in the world will allow you to see your abs.
Take it or leave it, I gua-ren-tee it.

SSC, I don't believe that the question at hand was whether or not the ab lounge would let you see your abs, just "Is it any good?" To that I answer, it depends on what you're looking for. If you want to spot reduce, then no, it isn't. You cannot spot reduce. If you're looking for a good ab workout, it can be, but no better than any other non-assisted ab workout. But if you're the sort of person who is more likely to do the exercise if you've got a machine, or a program, or some other tangible investment, than go for it.

SSC, I don't believe that the question at hand was whether or not the ab lounge would let you see your abs, just "Is it any good?" In that case, if the OP simply wants a good ab workout (just for the fun of it?), try hanging from something and raising your legs (straight) up to your abs slowly and under control.
