So, I guess I'm just here to say that I have tried everything and explain my weight problems.
I have always had a lack of motivation. Mainly due to my Interactive Thyroid which caused Clinical Depression and severe A.D.D. So yeah, my body is all sorts of messed up.
I take, or try to remember at least, various medications for my A.D.D, Depression, Thyroid, oh, and Asthma that I was diagnosed with when I was around 5.
I also have Severe cases of Diabetes on both sides of my family.
For those of you that don't know; there are two types of Diabetes. Type I, aka juvinile diabetes, requires insulin shots, and Type II is "adult onset"/insulin resistance diabetes.
My dad has Hypoglycemia and my mom has diabetes.
My grandpa on my mom's side has Diabetes as well and my grandma had Diabetes. She passed away a couple months ago.
Thanks to abrannan, I got my Diabetes Types and Facts straight. Thank you. ^.^ *nods*
My grandmother did not take care of her body properly. She had underlying heart disease as was. Well, she developed very bad heart valves but had an infection. she couldn't have the operation until her infection was gone. Because of her Diabetes and lack of health, the infection took over her body. Her heart finally gave out.
My uncle on my mom's side has type 2. And my grandparents on my dad's side also have diabetes.
So, as you can see, if I don't start becoming healthy soon, I could develop Adult Onset Diabetes. I don't want to end up like my grandmother. Or my mom for that matter. She had a gastric bypass surgery last year.. and has had two operations after that to fix what they messed up. No good.
Ever since I met my best friend/Ex-boyfriend/Love of my life, Aaron. He has kind of helped me to see that I do need to lose weight. He is now in Naval Boot camp until the end of this month. Ever since my grandma died, I have been thinking about these factors a lot.
I made a promise to him and to myself that when he left for the Navy, I would do all that is in my power, to become healthier and lose the weight that I want to.
I could never find a work-out method that I liked. I couldn't stick with it because I didn't have someone pushing me to keep at it and it felt like a chore. I've always had a love for DDR and there was a point where I did try to play it for "five miles" on work-out mode every day or every other day. That didn't last long because my brother took away the PlayStation. Ruined my dreams. D:
Anyways... I ran into yet ANOTHER problem. I know you're thinking, how many more problems could this girl have?! I told you, I'm all sorts of messed up. lol.
I moved out on my own in March of 08. And in with my good friend at the time and her boyfriend of almost 2 years. Biggest mistake EVER! They had a pretty stable relationship.. or so I thought. Not two months later, she decides to break up with him, move out, move in with her ex, and force David and I to pay for 715 in rent a month among-st the two of us. That's about 110 extra dollars a month that I now have to pay. On top of half of the other bills for the apartment. How do I do all of this?? I'll tell you... I work about 8 to 13 hours a day for 5 days a week making 10 dollars an hour. I also have Insomnia mind you. But... I also am paying off an 1800 dollar engine and roughly 1400 dollars worth of credit card debt. Then the final problem... school. See, in order to keep my health insurance under my mom's name, I can't change my address on my driver's license and I have to go to school full-time. And, as you can see, I CLEARLY and DESPERATELY need my health insurance.
So, what is my work schedule every week? Roughly 50 hours a week. Taxes don't help my checks either. *shakes head*
I have barely any time as is. And of course my work schedule is going to be cut down drastically when college starts in the following months. So, how am I going to do all of this and lose weight at the same time?
That's where you guys come in. Support. And I am going to need lots of it. A strict diet isn't going to work for me. Cutting out various things such as candy, pop/soda, and fast food will be my major helping factors. Candy... now THAT will be hard. I am all for the sweets. Caramel and sour candies mostly. I have already started my journey of cutting out pop and I drink mostly Crystal Light, 1% milk, and I did find a new great tasting sugar-free energy drink mix: Deton 8 made by Kroger. And I hardly ever eat fast food anymore. That's due to not having any money. But, I LOVE vegetables and Fruit. So, that's not too much of a problem. The candy is what I need to get rid of. No more. I cannot be tempted by it's sugary goodness any longer.
But, can I muster 30 to 60 minutes a day of work-out? I have no idea but I will sure as heck try!
I am hoping this will be the last thing I have to try to lose weight. I have almost given up hope. If I had the money, I would get a personal trainer. Hah. Been to that topic already.
So, I am here to say... I hope to find friends and those to help keep me on my needed track for a healthier life style.
I can't stress enough how much I don't want to have the amount of problems I have seen my family as a whole and as individuals, endure. It has been hard on us all. And I am ready for a change.
I am Britnee Lin and I am here to start the DDR Diet.
Starting Weight: roughly 240 lbs
Current Weight: roughly 240 lbs
GOAL Weight: 175 lbs (for now)
Pounds to Lose: roughly 65 lbs
If any of you have advice for me.. PLEASE don't hesitate to drop on by!
I've lost 30 lbs before on non-stop exercise (worked at Kroger as a bagger) in about two months. Then I platoed *sp?* and finally after 8 months, quit. Now I sit at a desk in front of a computer all day long.
I will take as much advice as you can give, so don't hesitate, please. It will be rewarding once I start to feel better and healthier. And get into those clothes that I have forever wanted to get in to!
