Hey there everyone! I found this community on recommendation of a friend...
So, I gained 30 pounds this last year living from stress, not excercising and living on my roomate's diet. (One should never eat chicken nuggets and mac and cheese every night, no matter how busy they are...) When I stepped on my scale in late May and it read 216lbs, it was a major wake up call.
I used to be a real health nut and while I now have the food thing back under control (I'm even doing weight watchers with my mum right now) and I've dropped down to 208 since the beginning of June, I figured it's time to get off my butt and start exercising again. I bought a gym pass and I go walking with my fam on occassion but then my brother reminded me my old DDR set was in the basement.
Anyhow, I just did my first 222 calorie workout today with it and it was so much more fun than hitting the eliptical machine at the gym! I'm hoping that joining the board here will keep me at it everyday and that I'll eventually remaster the difficult setting and move back into doing Heavy sets.
I've had some really terrible things happen this year--like, could have died bad--- but everything's sunny now. I really feel like I'm finally starting my life and I want to be as healthy and as fit as I can be rather than putting it off any longer.

Welcome to the boards! You will find a lot of support here. Since you are rediscovering your old DDR set you'll be up to heavy/expert levels in no time - just keep making time for it even if it's only a few minutes each day, and pretty soon you'll be feeling better than ever!
