Well I don't like a whole lot of the songs on DDRX, wish I would have got DDRSuperNova2, I hear it has some awesome songs.
But I'm having a problem, when I dance to one of the workouts (6 or 7 songs in a row) me and my dance pad end up on the other side of the living room xD I'm always sliding around on it. Lol.
And you know what? When I'm in the middle of a good song, finally getting into the rhythm, that voice that I guess is supposed to get you motivated, annoys me greatly. Can we turn him off??

[/q] Get a rug grip pad, it'll cut down on a lot fo the sliding. [q] And you know what? When I'm in the middle of a good song, finally getting into the rhythm, that voice that I guess is supposed to get you motivated, annoys me greatly. Can we turn him off?? You should be able to, the option has been in all of the other DDR games. I'd be surprised if they removed it from this one. It's usually the first option I change on any new DDR game.

Like every game I get, I don't like it at first then I start unlocking the better songs and I really like it now. Even though the announcer I think is the worst of any DDR PS2 game (just consider him a joke and have some laughs) and Streetmaster Mode is even lamer than HyperMaster was in SN2. I could unlock songs way faster just playing in regular game mode. I still think the difficulty of most songs is overrated, but mix of songs is pretty good, something for everyone and the stepcharts seem pretty well done. They make sense and they are fun. One song I finally decided I really like is Saber Wing (Tag). It has a few odd stops in it but it's fun because it's different. Offhand I can't remember any other DDR song done in 3/4 time. Somebody did a YouTube of the songlist if you want to spend the time... www.youtube.com/watch?v=nAEHk-05UlwI gave the video a look. The playlist doesn't look too bad.

I just got it yesterday, and I really love the game. I played it for about 3 hours straight this morning, and a little more throughout the day.
But yes, as the apparent general consensus is on the voice, I hate it as much as everyone else. Particularly the horrific Japanese....>_> At least teach the dude to say it right...
By the Way, Time Hollow's probably my favorite on on X. Go Time Hollow!

So they have songs that go up to an 18 for difficulty? Was 1-10 not enough? Really?

In comparison to everything that's out there custom I would say nope. But since ddr fails at fun hard steps I can't see it being at all pleasant.

I don't think that they really correlate to the difficulty of before, i've seen some of these step charts. And they're lame.

yeah... I figured as much. Because konomi just can't seem to wrap its head around the sub-culture, do a little research and make the game right. They're really being so stupidly corporate about the whole series now.

Well, my DDR pad is about ready to retire and/or die, so I may ask for this game's bundle for Christmas (money was short for a birthday present). A new pad and a new mix of songs is always welcome.

I got this for christmas and I have to say that music-wise, this could be my favorite mix yet. The hard songs are actually listenable and the step charts, albeit some repeat too much too often, are good for working up a sweat. And who can hate...
up up down down left right left right b a select start.

They're saying that the Lego Batman PS2 Bundle will be the last effective bundle and then the PS2 is essentially dead. My friend who works at GameStop said that as of 2009, all PS2 development will stop and Sony will move all assets to PS3 and PSP support. I can believe your guess that 95% of DDR Players are PS2 owners (me included, but I also have a Wii). When the system officially dies, it'd be interesting to see which console will get most of the DDR faithful. I stand corrected...DDRX2 is coming for PS2. Interesting to see how long this little guy hangs on.

I stand corrected...DDRX2 is coming for PS2. Interesting to see how long this little guy hangs on. For some reason I have it in my head that the new consoles seem a little too powerful for rhythm games. It's a dumb sentiment, but I just don't see rhythm games migrating over too well.

I think it's more a case of the market for rhythm games that don't end in "Band" or "Hero" is so small that it's not worth paying the extra licensing fees to port them to the newer systems when folks will still buy them for the older consoles.

Happy 10th Birthday PS2! By technology standards, it's ancient. However, there are still new games in queue for the machine in 2010.

And on a sad note, I picked up DDR X for the PS2 from the thrift store a few weeks back. $6 for the game. I've been seeing a LOT of DDR games in the used section at Gamestop, so anybody who's missing anything in the series, this is probably a good time to fill in your missing titles.
