Hi! I'm a noob. I've been playing for about 6 weeks at home. I have Supernova and Extreme 2 on PS2. I'm able to pass 7-8 footers at this point on the regular, thin pad. (I should mention that I'm a 37-y-o mom, but I used to play drums and have good rhythm and I am told I look more like I'm in my mid to late 20s.) I went to the arcade for the first time the other night. They had Supernova. I actually drew a crowd of about 15 people (obviously non-DDRers) around the machine. It was pretty funny because I know I suck compared to many of you on here. I even had tourist snapping pics according to my husband! LOL It was a lot of fun.
Anyway, I didn't know you had to tap twice to change the difficulty. I finally figured that out. Then I was trying to get some certain songs. What's that ABC... thing all about? Does that hold songs from other DDR versions or something? Like, I love NOFX and they have a song on DDR for Xbox. Can I access that song on a Supernova machine? What about Extreme 2 songs? And if I find an Extreme machine, will I be able to play Extreme 2 songs?
Also, on a side note, I was hoping to lose a few pounds but I seem to be evenly exchanging fat for muscle. I'm not losing weight but I can totally see a difference in my lower body. (I'm 5'7" and weigh about 143. I'd love to lose 10lbs.)
Enlighten me if you would be so kind! Christine

I have never play on a Supernova machine but if its anything like DDR Extreme, then it starts out with the standard song wheel which doesn't have all the songs shown on it. Sorting by ABC enables you to choose all songs and browse through them much easier. For example, on Extreme, the default wheel shows only about 70ish songs while Extreme actually has 200+ songs. Sorting by ABC gives access to all songs. I really don't know why Konami did this. Also, you can sort by artist name and BPM. Here is the SN song list: www.ddruk.com/postview.php?post=270472I'm not sure how complete it is but it looks pretty good to me.

Thanks guys! How do you sort them? I think I heard you press the right and left triangle buttons at the same time or something?

Great. Thanks! I'll have to go a less-busy arcade and play around with it.
