Title says it! I finally set a high score on the Max 2 machine in town. It was actually my first time attempting oni. I usually only do standard and a select few heavy songs. Out of cuiosity I went to oni and tried the Naoki Standard. I only lasted 1min 2sec, but it was enough for a high score!lol
The 1st and 2nd place slots were filled in from the machines previous location. It used to be in Indiana I think. Now it's in my town Carrollton (near Atlanta). So technically I am the highest score in town.
Sadly I know i'm not the best player though. Aside from me, there are only about 3 other serious players in town. All of wich don't do oni...
But hey! I got my name up there. Any of you ever have trouble putting your name in? The scrolling letters are a pain in the rear...

oni is a blast. Naoki Standard is the first oni mode that I passed. It's difficult to pass an oni mode at the arcade... in my experience I get pad misfires that end up killing me.

congrats, I got my first record on POP4 the week before they upgraded the EXTREME to SuperNOVA so my score was gone in a week but since SuperNOVA was new I took a couple of the records for courses.

Way to go! I myself, have become an oni freak. It's pretty much all I use extreme machines for now. The only bad thing is I learned to play 2x, so I'm still learning to read 1x.

Way to go! I myself, have become an oni freak. It's pretty much all I use extreme machines for now. The only bad thing is I learned to play 2x, so I'm still learning to read 1x. Had I been able to actually use 2x rather than 1 I probably could have more than trippled my score. All the songs on it are the ones I play most, but it's difficult for me to read the arrows. I played it again today to take the 2-5 slots on the naoki standard. By the end of the month I plan on being the high score holder across 1-5. I just gotta beat a score of 2min13sec. I did about 1min 30sec today. |

That's awesome. If you could pick your own mods it would be much easier, but hey I need a challenge on extreme. I hope I can eventually get legend road down.

But seriously, the pads at my arcade (despite the SN being fairly new) aren't too great. All freezes seem to have become rolls. The fact is, stuff like oni and survival only work if your pads are flawless.

Yeah I feel your pain. Our sn, by some miracle, is still in fantastic condition, but our two extreme machines only have one pad that doesn't just give you misses for fun

Great stuff.. too bad we've no local DDR machines, we've no Arcades. The closest one is a plane ride away =(

Still can't get that 1st place spot. I keep messing up a few seconds into dynamite rave. I can do the song on standard no problem, but on 1X the arrows are just too hard for me to read.
But I have had alot of fun doing the heavy playlist. I almost pulled a full combo on Twilight Zone today. Slipped up near the end though.
