i started on FFR, then to SM , then SMO, i played from 1 hand to 4 finger and now spread & 4finger/index mix for sum songs. today i tried ITG 2 and DDR extreme or something i loved ITG 2,the songs were fun, and i could pass up to 6-7 footers, i think i did 1 8 footer, but the DDR machine was a different story the pads on it felt awckward, because the bar on the machine had this big assed foam thing on it and it made it like 4x the width, and the pad side i used didn't seem to respond sometimes when i hit the arrows which was really starting to piss me off. i think if the DDR game was in that ITG 2 machine i would like it just as much, but ITG 2 also has the USB plug in thing which i think makes it way better and man, it was fun, but i was sweating bullets by the end of 2 hours! i find the bar makes it easier to play, but it makes me more tired, without bar is less tiring but harder to play i tihnk i was using the bar wrong because most of the time after a song my arms would be killing me and id be all tired everywere lol oh well, hopefully i will get bettrer over time, im luvin feet versions of this, much harder then keyboard

were you playing at the midway one, because I agree the big foam things on the DDR bar are really annoying, and sorry I couldn't be there yesterday, I had to leave early. after a while you'll find you won't sweat so much after doing 5-7 footers all you need is a bit more stamina witch comes with time playing. Oh and did the DDR KIDS in the kids part of the arcade it's fun to play but the pads suck!

well i play alot of Stepmania, i can AA vertex Alpha pretty well and i play on c700 so i can read pretty well, i jsut had to transfer doing keyboard to feet... took a good hour but i think ill get alot better in the next few times i go...
if u don't know what vertex alpha is i can post the simfile for it...
*EDIT* also, i found it easy to read on c300 because i play ffr alot so i was doing c300/c450 on the ITG machine, which had the 8 i passed on... the ddr machine i could only pass up to a 6 ,i think cause i couldnt play on cmods lol

Yeah, reading is actually the most work.
I mean, if you can do that well on SM, transferring isn't too hard.

I dunno, I started on SM and could pass most 9s playing by hand, but was almost a year before I could pass a 5 on my feet. Being able to hit an 8 your first time out is impressive.

I started playing stepmania long after playing DDR, so I was playing 10's on DDR and failing 8's on stepmania. but playing stepmania can help you a lot with reading and timing.

I still haven't touched StepMania yet lol. Everything I've learned, I learned with my feet. If I try to do something with a controller that I can do with my feet, I fail miserably.

The only place you find my machine tag (SPTY) is at BZ Naperville on the songs no one plays lol. I've got #1 records on Don't Promise Me ~Happiness~, Let Me Be The One double... Need I continue? lol.
I've noticed at my machine for some reason most of the #1 records on 12's are about the 95% range... but Bloodrush is always around an 83%... Why does everyone think that song is so hard? It's really not that bad...
