Hi - I have never done DDR, but after reading posts here and elsewhere, have been considering putting out the cash for everything to start. However, I am a 'starving nursing student' and want to make sure (as far as is possible) it will be worth it if I do. My biggest concern is is it really FUN?!? I am trying to find things I enjoy to workout, but I finally found a DDR game in an arcade here in Alaska (no small feat!), and one kid was playing it, but it didn't look very fun, and he didn't play long. I love dancing, but usually to my own 'beat', so to speak! Any input? Thanks in advance for any help!!!

Try it at the arcade, and if you like it, buy it! If not, it's only a dollar spent, so you dont need to feel bad.

Ditto Grant. DDR would probably only work if you could have fun doing it. I certainly wouldn't play it if it wasn't fun, although it is really great exercise. Play at your arcade and then come back for more advice before buying it if you decide to. There are many mistakes to make when buying DDR .

It is fun, and I think if you give it a chance, you'll like it. A few things to keep in mind when playing at the arcade:
-Keep the difficulty level very low, difficulty 1-2 for your first song. It takes a few songs to get the hang of the game
- If you're self conscious about playing in public, it will make the expereince less enjoyable. This is not a problem at home
-*EVERYBODY* is lousy at first, don't get too discouraged.
