Anyone have any experience with Nutrisystem? Is it effective? Any info would be appreciated.

I tried it about 1 1/2 years ago. The food is disgusting and has a surprising amount of saturated fat for a "diet" food. You have to buy a fair amount of food yourself (fruits, veggies, dairy, etc.), in addition to the nutrisystem food. 2-3 of the dried food products (muffins/brownies) had mold on them when I opened them. I'm not sure how long the food is sitting on their shelves before they send it to you, but it must be a long time. I would definitely NOT recommend it. If you need something convenient and healthy, I would look for a local, weekly food delivery service. Or, if you have time, plan your meals for the week, and prepare everything on Sunday. Everything will be ready for you to grab it when you need it. Good luck!

Thanx for replying. Ive heard so many mixed opinions, it makes it hard to make the right choice. I suppose the biggest appeal of nutrisystem is the convenience of it. Thanks again for the info.

My aunt did nutrisystem for a few years. She didn't lose any weight that I can tell of. I'd be leery about any diet program that's all about processed foods anyhow. Going along with what Elly said, I find it's helpful to make multiple meals out of something. Say, I'll make a bunch of rice up, then eat off it for the week making various dishes from it, so that I don't have to boil water ever time. And freezing things is good too, like making up a bunch of burritos and freezing them for later consumption. Plus, making them will probably save you money as opposed to buying a bunch of burritos (that are healthy) in the long run. For instance.

If you watch the Nutrisystem commercials, wait for the part where they show a person's "before" and "after" pics and look at the bottom right corner of the white area on the screen, it says "Results not typical."

Everything...absolutely everything sold on television says "results not typical." Thats a given. Besides, I don't think I could survive on Nutrisystem. I threw that idea out a long time ago. lol.
