I thought I would open up the floor to people's thoughts on Splenda and sucralose. I bumped into a link that has reader testimonials of the dangers of sucralose and was wondering what others had heard about Splenda... good or bad. www.mercola.com/2000/dec/3/sucralose_testimonials.htm

Well I have read and heard that when it hits your stomach it turns to chlorine. Just what I have heard. Well I kind of like splenda products cause they don't give me the migraines that nutrasweet does it does have it's affects to. I try not to eat too much cause it does give me loose bowels, I don't know how to put that nicely. Fruits, honey, and agave nectar are my sweets.
I dunno about that lady though, it looks as if she had a long nap in a tanning bed, notice the tan line. Leaves me skeptical whether it really was splenda, there were no test done on her to find out what had caused it hmmm. I am not saying it's not pluasible but sometimes people can be very biased and do anythign to defame a product. People are allergic to nuts should they be taken off the shelf as well?? Think about that. I know I have my stance on aspertame but still I think that all things should be taken into consideration, in fact why not put warning labels on products like these, they do it for prescription drugs and products that use olestra so why not artificial sweeteners, with the list of allergic reactions. Aspertame products label them as not intended for people with PKU (My best friend has this, his body can not process a certain enzyme and therefore is "supposed" to eat like a vegan)

His site seems... questionable, at best. No self-respecting medical professional would make claims based off of a handful of anectdotal evidence like that. Sets my BS-meter buzzing like you wouldn't believe.
My only problem with sucralose is that any foods I've found that are sweetened with it are waaaaay too syrupy sweet for me to stand these days.
