cut out the sweets, the pop, the junk food, I'm a vegetarian, cut out the starchey carbs, you name it. The"DDR Diet" is just changing your eating habits to get rid of the junk, and playing lots of DDR. No points, no carb counting, no monthly fees, no meetings, no memberships, no special foods.

precisely. I was never able to follow any sort of strict diet. Not unless it was for a few days... I believe 2 weeks is the maximum I have ever been able to hold my own on a diet. I changed my eating habbits...slowly mind you. I did one thing at a time. And each one got easier. The interesting thing, is once you start getting healthy, you don't want to go back. If you DO go back it's aweful. Much like my experience with my struggle to quit smoking - the toughest challenge I have had yet! I've cut waaay back and that's good. I'm not over the bump yet... but - some days I lapse and smoke a ton and then my body feels aweful and it rejects it... even though that's the same amount I used to pump into it daily. Does that make sense?? Pop makes me gag because it's this nasty sugar goop that apparently I used to love so much that I had 5-6 cans a day... Sugar, the same...it's all unbearably sweet for me now. I DO still love the starches and have to actually watch myself around them and use a litle will power. but anyways...my body has adjusted to my lifestyle change so now I am loosing the weight extremely slowly rate... but after 55 lbs gone, I'm okay with it. It means that I have set a pace where I can live my life and not gain. If I need to loose more...which I do...I have another 15 to go... I'm gonna have to step it up and lower my calorie intake. omg long post.

I'm new here, lol, but... here goes... I think that sounds awesome... although, I am giving a different sort of method a try, being the overly organized person I am.... (hehe, sarcasm, love it) Hehe, this feels really off topic but I felt like replying... And xstatic, I must say... congrats on the loss of 55 lbs! And it's awesome you are doing better with smoking. -pokes sig- I have a LOOOONG way to go. lol

The DDR diet is indeed the way to go, I feel. I've been slacking on my DDR, I've had no time lately, but I'll get back into it. -=thumbs up=-

I think I can follow the DDR diet, expect that I CANNOT eat vegtiables. I have an extremely strong gag reflex, so whenever I eat something green, I immediately start to gag. I guess I can take a vitamin supplement and cut down on startches... but that's going to be hard.

I used to be the same way. I would actually vomit rather than eat certain vegetables. You'll "man up" eventually. There is no substitute for vegetables in your diet. No amount of suppliments can replace the benefits you get from them. Every month there's a new study that shows that vegetable X has nutrient Y and that's why it helps people do Z. Then the vitamin manufacturers scramble to find a separate, but stable, pill form of that same nutrient, and sell it to you for 20x the cost of the vegetable it was found in. You'll always be behind the curve living through chemistry like that. So give veggies (and fruits) another try. Spice them, smother them in other flavors, cook them with things you like. Broaden your horizons, food-wise. Look to ethnic foods, Asian, Indian, Middle Eastern, Greek, etc. You'll find flavors you never knew existed, and you'll like them. But it all starts with your mind. If you sit there and tell yourself "If I eat that, I'll gag" over and over again, of course that's what will happen. If you tell yourself, "I'm going to eat this, and not gag, and discover something about it's flavor" over and over again, then that will happen. Try it on your next date. Order something with vegetables in it, and eat it. You surely won't allow yourself to gag in front of your date, will you?

I tried smothering veggies in ketchup. all i got was an ulcer and I just gagged a few times. But maybe it is mind over matter. I have no ploblem with fruit. they donn't taste bad I'll just have to find some way to stomache vegetables.

I tried smothering veggies in ketchup Mmm... Ew. I love vegetables. I love ketchup. Together? I think I'd gag right along with you. =P

I think I can follow the DDR diet, expect that I CANNOT eat vegtiables. I have an extremely strong gag reflex, so whenever I eat something green, I immediately start to gag. I hear that they make vegetables in other colors besides green now. Carrots are orange, can you eat them? Or red sweet bell peppers? Potatoes are white, I don't know if they count as a vegetable though. Eggplants are purple (beige on the inside), but purple turns some people off right away. Cauliflower is white and you can bath it in cheddar cheese to make it more palatable. In fact, enough molten cheese and you can't really tell that the brocilli is green underneath. I hope you find your vegetable someday.

I set aside 2 days a week for ice cream but i generally ate alot more than that. I quit eating ice cream for about a month. It was a hard struggle, but now I eat ice cream and it just doesn't taste good anymore. It tastes way too sweet and i can't eat a whole lot of it. I still eat it though, but more as a social thing and I only eat it when my friends and I go out and we get a cone or something like that
