Heyy everyone, I've been ddring for about a year now and I've just about reached my goal weight. I was wondering, how does one maintain that weight? I want to gradually increase my calories again, and i know you aren't supposed to make any drastic changes, so what do I do? Help!

First of all, congratulations! Woo!! *tosses confetti in the air* Second of all, you can increase your calorie intake, since you'll be eating to maintain your weight, not to lose. How many calories were you consuming per day to lose weight? (If you're not sure, just post what you would eat on a typical day) How much did you exercise? This is just a ballpark estimate, but if you consume about 2000 calories a day and exercise at least 5 times a week you should be able to maintain... that's just an estimate, though. Oh, how much do you weight now, and how tall are you? There are different websites that you can go to that will give you an estimate on how many calories you should consume per day to maintain your current weight, I like the one from calorie-count.comCongrats again

thanks! Let's see, I'd say i eat about 1400-1500, but that's a rough estimate, I exercise(ddr) for an hour everyday/5 days a week, I now weigh 148 and I'm 5'6''. My goal was 140-145. So, yeah, maybe experimentation is the best way, I don't know.

The best answer you could get would be from a nutritionist, if you can swing by one they can give you a full analysis of how much you should consume/burn per day. The best I can tell you is keep on exercising, otherwise the weight will just come back on. You probably only have to for maybe 45 minutes five days a week, and you could probably consume about 1800-2000 calories a day. This is just my estimate though, I'm not an expert No matter what you do your weight will still probably fluxuate +/- 5 lbs per week if you're not analyzing everything you eat, which isn't entirely a bad thing anyways. Good luck

Honestly? Unless you've been crash dieting, just keep on doing what you've been doing. Your body will reach an equilibrium point where your body composition will match what you're eating. Allow yourself a few more indulgences, perhaps, but otherwise your body will take care of it itself.
