Hey. I'm Alyce. I just started DDR tonight with my fiance. After realizing what a workout it is, I looked online to see if there were any correlations which led me to this site. I currently weigh 250; I've lost five lbs since working out. My current goal is to lose 50 lbs by Dec 31, 2008, which I think is reasonable. I did 30-45 minutes tonight on the light/beginner setting which is about as good as I can do right now. I'm not overly coordinated How many minutes should I DDR each day to see results. I'm not looking for immediate results, just 1-2 lbs. a week, probably more like 1 lb. Is 3-45 minutes enough?

Truthfully, I don't believe you actually start working up a sweat until you get to Heavy mode. Sometimes on Standard, but normally Heavy is the "true" workout. You'll get there though (training and lesson mode are REALLLLYYYYYYYY HELPFUL) and I couldn't really tell you how long. I've been going from about 30 minutes to an hour of DDR if that helps you get an idea.

I must have been really out of shape, cause I was definitely sweating way back when I played DDR and I could only play on Light Mode But I do somewhat agree with you, a more conditioned player probably wouldn't see too much sweat now unless they play on the heavier modes. When I started my current workout regime (back in January) I played mostly Standard songs and maybe one or two Expert songs, and I still definitely sweated a lot. I think it just depends on what kind of shape you are in when you begin your workout and how quickly your body becomes conditioned to it.
