Ok I have a question for all of you. I wear baggy clothes and pretty much no one knows im over weight. They're all suprised when I wear something tight or etc. Well, that was kind of on purpose. I always had an uncomfortbale feeling with showing my weight so I always just wore baggy clothes. Now, If I do lose this weight, should I ditch the baggy clothes? I don't really know anything other then them and it'd be REALLY awkward.
So anyone with this same dilemma?

I've been there. I grew up in the 90's and I was a tomboy. So we were all about baggy jeans, huge baggy flannels and big baggy shirts. I was extremely self concious. And I wasn't even that overweighht back then...I mean I thought I was overweight but I only weighed like 135 lbs... looking back I WISH I weighed that much now lmao! But anyways... I gained all my weight and still covered it up with the baggy look. Only recently as I have gained more self esteem...and the clothes got tighter... more form fitting.... But I didn't change my style or anything.... I still carry my baggy jeans w a t-shirt look.... only now it is baggy in the legs but not in the waist and more baby doll type tee's.

Ditch the baggy clothes.
There are pros and cons of both clothing types, baggy and tight, and you need to find the middle ground for your body type and such. Too baggy can make you look even BIGGER than you really are and tight clothes can make you look ridiculous and trying too hard. (There's nothing more sad than seeing a girl wearing low riders with a gut. Argh.) Or a simple, easy clothes solution I use: find a good thing about your body that you like and try to accentuate it as much as possible.
But baggy clothes are not good for self-esteem. When you loose the weight, it's fun to go out and try on new clothes. Really, it is. ^^

I used to wear baggy clothes then one day I wore more form fitting clothes and people said wow did you lose weight?? It was cause I wore baggy clothes. That was like 5 years ago but still. I would think that the baggy clothes would make you look bigger I dunno it guess it all depends. WINGS

oh no.... not with my body type. I'm big in the gut and butt area first and much skinnier elsewhere... A pear shape if you will, and baggy clothes conceal and make you look thinner cause people see the skinny bits of your shape.

I'm right in the middle there with it. If I wore really baggy clothes, I'd just make myself look fatter, but I'd do the same with tight fitting clothes. Nobody likes the person who wears clothes four times too small for her. I usually do the hoodie look ( zomg hoooodieeeeees ), and those are baggy. I love it . As for jeans, they're loose fitting, but not outright baggy. I make my fat look as good as I can lol .

From my own personal experience, I remember when I wore baggy clothing, too, during my freshman year of high school. I'm a girl and I wasn't THAT overweight, but I remember that when I started wearing tight/normal sized clothing, I actually looked thinenr than I did when I wore baggy clothing. Try buying something smaller, and see if you view yourself thinner after a while I know that I'm definitely comfortable wearing snug clothing now.

It's psychological. I remember wearing baggy clothes since middle school all the way through college. I started to lose weight four years ago (from 250 and now sliding between 202 and 197). I still felt fat. It wasn't until a few years back when I went up to Toronto and bought a T-Shirt that the guy gave me a size Large when I asked for an XL. He said, "It'd be too big on you." I didn't touch it for at least a year, then more people told me I was losing weight and I gained a bit more confidence, so I started wearing the shirt. I still feel like I could lose a few more pounds, but I definitely feel better. In your case, I agree with a lot of the people already commented (even though most of the comments are from three years ago...). Find a middle ground that you're happy with.
